“it is sinking fast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

This wreck has been around since the 1930's, but is fast disappearing into the sand. It was the world's first triple screw ship. it is a photographer's paradise for close up rusting iron with it's many colours.

“Nothing special”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

It's a pile of rust sitting on the shore line.
Depending on what time of the day you visit the wreck, will depend on how much of the wreck you will see due to tides.
The history of the ship is more interesting than actually seeing it because there is not much of the ship left.

“Amazing sight along the Fraser Coast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

This shipwreck looks amazing as you drive up the coast of Fraser, there is a model of it in its finer days in the lobby of kingfisher bay resort and its hard to believe its the same ship.

“Pretty Good , be very careful of vehicles driving really fast on the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2013

Pretty Good , be very careful of vehicles driving really fast on the beach. Also look at the historical photos comparing how the maheno was to how it is now, it's sinking fast.

“good for photos”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

This must be a great project for photographers, it's very artistic looking now it is rusting away. If you could stay here all day you would get lovely shots with the sun from different angles and the ocean waves all around
