“Only some rooms have marina views”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2012

I stayed 3 nights on a business trip to Townsville. Check in was easy, Staff were polite. Room was clean (albeit with very loosley layed and hence buckled carpet). The beds were double sized (not queen sized) which took a while to get used to. Good Sony TV but with free-to-air channels only. My level-one room enjoyed a commanding view of the grass in the vacant lot next door - no marina view for me to be had at all :(

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view and ask for queen sized bed.

We appreciate your comments and thank you for your time. At the complex we have many sizes and variations of rooms with various bedding to suit all requirements. Some of our units are large enough to sleep up to six people if required.
When booking please advise of your request and we will only be too happy to try and fulfil your requirements. The complex consist of two structures. Many clients choose to stay in the units in the back complex but others wish views of the marina. On reservations please advise of your preferences and we will do our best to accommodate.
Have a great week.

A two night trip for business saw us stay at the Par Regis in Palmer Street Townsville.

We were very happy with the quality of the apartment and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a level three apartment with commanding views of the harbor and river – just perfect.

Very quiet after hours so we slept perfectly.

Anyone who knows Townsville knows that Palmer Street is just wall to wall with excellent eateries from nice restaurants to pubs to take-away you should surely find something to tantalize.

A few minor issues for us with the apartment: 1) Very poor lighting over the bathroom mirror. This needs to be upgraded.. 2) Very limited power points are available. Only one spare in the bedroom with the others behind the beds, so you can not charge your phone/computer while you boil the kettle.

Overall, we were very satisfied with this place and we would certainly return with our family and friends.

We are always only to happy to look after our New Zealand friends and corporate travellers. Your comments have been taken on board and have been attended to in regards to the extra power points.
Come again anytime. Both Townsville and Park Regis love our overseas neighbours

I stayed here for 3months, place is in a great location. Out of the city but amongst some beautiful marina views. I really enjoyed my stay here, i just felt right at home. I stayed in both 1 bdrm & 2bdrm apartments, 1 bedroom apartment is very spacious. Has washing machines, dryers, bath and very spacious and open living areas. It was big enough for me to even have visitors over. The 2bdrm place has more than enough space. It can fit more than 6ppl. They have everything aim the apartments and makes it easier to stay with the foxtel / mOvie channels. The only downfalls was that room service done weekly, sometimes when I have sign to clean room, it doesn't get done til the designated day. At one point I had no room service for 2 weeks until I approached cleaner and asked when my room will be cleaned then they did it. Secondly the ants, found it really hard to get rid in every apartment I stayed in. Pool was great although I do suggest management take a look at the BBQ area. It's not in the greatest condition and the shelter is freestanding due to severe rusting. Could be dangerous. Besides that I rate 7/10

My partner got a posting order back up at the start of this year &we were put up at Park Regis from the 5th Jan til the 13th Jan, we both were so very impressed with the wonderful service&cleanliness of the place we would defineatly stay here again or recommend it to anybody else.
The self contained units were so perfect for our stay, washing machine&dryer in the rooms, lovely views&comfy bed..

Yeah this place maybe older than some but its a great, relaxed place to stay :)

Stayed here in December 2011 with my family in a two bedroom apartment. Apartment is actually two separate rooms with separate doors, a small hallway that is joined by an external door. Was not expecting this as our two bedroom apartment. Rooms are very clean so are the bathrooms and kitchens. Kitchen had all necessities and all appliances worked well. Beds are very comfortable - best part of the room! May not stay here if I come to Townsville again with family, will choose another hotel and ensure that it is one apartment with two bedrooms. Would recommend to only get a one bedroom apartment or studio room. Also, location of hotel is not ideal, you can stay at other places that are a bit close or in CBD for similar prices.

What I liked:
Booked a room for 4 nights via Agoda. Check-in was painless. The room had 2 double beds, a small refrigerator, kettle, and tea service. I was able to request plates and cutlery from reception. The room was bigger than I thought it would be and clean. We had a nice view that faced the maritime museum. Liquid soap and shampoo were provided via wall-mounted dispensers (I appreciated this because it avoided the use of those little plastic bottles).

What I didn't like:
A colleague of mine had to drop off books at the hotel for me while I was out. I was misinformed by the hotel staff that there would be someone at the reception desk until 9pm. My colleague arrived at 7pm and found no one at the reception desk so she was forced to leave the books in the elevator (apparently reception closes at 5pm). Good thing the books didn't get stolen. Internet access was pretty expensive. Also, there weren't any easily reachable electrical outlets (besides the one for the room's TV) for charging mobile phones, etc. We had to move one of the beds to reach the outlet for the bedside lamp just so that we could charge our phones while watching TV

I booked a two bed apartment for a weekend away to Townsville with family. The two bedroom unit cost $260. Reception staff were a bit distracted on our arrival, with the first person leaving and a second staff member having to start over again. There was only one key available which could be inconvenient if people wanted to separate as the reception is closed after 9pm weekdays and 5pm on weekends.

Our unit was located in "Anchorage 2" which is a different complex that backs onto the main building. There is a pathway which connected the buildings for pedestrians but you need to drive around the block to park a vehicle and take out luggage. The building looked like a mix of long term or separately owned tenants.

We were given apartment 11 which was located on the second story (access via stairs). The apartment looked tired with marked walls, well kitchen worn and older style furnishings. The more modern apartments must be located in the front of the property.

On the plus side, the apartment was very clean in all rooms, there was a laundry, full cooking facilities and a generous size balcony. Shame that the view from the balcony was a bit ordinary. The building was in walking distance of nice restaurants on Palmer St.

Overall, my traveling colleges agreed that although the unit was clean, the unit was overpriced for the location and status. Try to shop around if you want a larger family style unit which is a bit more modern and offers more facilities.
