Only a few kilometers off the Bruce Highway it takes less than 5 or 10 minutes to drive to start of the walking track, The walking track winds its way into the bush and down onto a creek bed under the foliage of dense rainforest trees, a beautiful area just to sit and relax in the shade on the rocks of the creek as the water meanders through the lower parts of the creek bed and the trees around you. After crossing the creek you have a few options, you can go down into the creekbed and look up at the falls, or climb part or all the way up a series of staircases that weave you up the side of the gorge to about halfway up the falls. Its a bit of a climb, but not excessively hard. The falls are beautiful and the area surrounding it lush and full of dense trees. There are heaps of picnic tables, barbecues and a camping site here to meet everybody's needs, but could easily be a half-day trip for a traveler from Ingham or Townsville, or just a pit stop for those passing through.
