“Great stay!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2008

Our family of 3 (2 adults + 6 yo) stayed in a 2 bedroom unit during June, 2008. We found the building to be a bit older but well maintained. The unit was well appointed and clean. We had a great view of the ocean and mountains from the 5th level balcony of the unit. The bed was comfortable and our daughter loved the uniquely shaped triangular 2nd bedroom with other awesome views. The bathroom and kitchen had everything we needed including washing machine, dryer, cooktops and dishwasher.
It was in a great location only a block from the beach and half-way between Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach. Easy walking distance to either. We found management to be friendly and accomodating to our needs. They even re-opened so we could use the tennis court after office hours (at my daughters request). We booked a couple of theme parks at discount rates with them.
I highly recommend the Surf Club located right on the beach a block away for a meal. Fantastic location and great food. Awesome breakfasts too!

We stayed at this place for a total of 45 hrs. Thats all we could stand. On arrival the door was closed and after following instructions we buzzed the number we were instructed to with no response. We then had to call the manager on her mobile to get her to come and open the door. I mentioned that I had buzzed and she immediately became defensive and accused me of not buzzing. After being let in I paid the balance of my account and was then shown to a tiny shabby looking appartment on the ground floor with half a mezzanine upper level. This had been advertised on the website as a large split level townhouse able to accomodate up to 8. Definitely not my idea of a townhouse. The website also said that the "townhouse" had its own private splash pool and private BBQ. They were both filthy!! The pool had dirt, branches and leaves in it and looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a while and the bbq was so dirty with meat still on it from the last person who had used it. Disgusting!! As for the fully equipped kitchen we had a grand total of 4 teaspoons to share between my family of 5. There were insufficient blankets for us to use in the month of July which is definitely a colder month. We absolutely froze during the night. The place was very shabby looking with large pieces of paint peeling off the walls and above the shower. The drawers in the bathroom were jammed and not able to be opened. The pillows were very old and filthy. The stove in the kitchen was so old it was rusted. The thing that was the most disturbing about this apartment was that the sliding doors leading out to the upstairs balcony were very hard to open!!! One was definitely stuck and off the rails and almost impossible to open by a fully fit male, and the other balcony door needed alot of muscle strength to open. A definite safety issue!!! Upon bringing these issues to the attention of the manager we were given a million excuses as to why the apartment was so run down. A lot of the problems were brushed off and we were told there really was not much wrong with the apartment and that the issues we complained about could have been resolved if we had spoken to them. That was fine for them to say but if there happened to be a fire on the top floor there was no way my children could have opened the doors to get out. We decided that we did not want to stay at this place for 5 nights as booked and simply packed up and left after letting the manager know we were not happy. She was not prepared to listen to the many reasons I was giving her and rudely hung up on me.I am currently trying to get a refund through consumer affairs.

Booked 3 nights stay with some friends. The hotel looked old - there were spiderwebs on its front signage!!!
We arrived early at around 10am and pressed the bell for quite sometime, but no one answered us. We had to call the number on the door in order to get the manager to open the door and let us check-in. We were allowed to check-in earlier because the room was available, brownie points here.
But, the location is about 15 mins walk from main surfer's area, so I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone given the price is not that much cheaper than the other nicer looking accommodations. We were told that we can get a free bottle of wine upon check-in, but we had to ask for it. In our confirmation notice, extra person were to be charged AUD10 per person per night, however the manager tried to charge us AUD20 instead.
Room size is decent (not big though), but very old.
One thing to note: There isn't any place to store your items should you need to once you check-out. So, plan your flights and etc properly based on this. Late check-out is chargeable again!
