“Disappointing...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013 via mobile

I stayed here for business, and the Towers were recommended by my client.

Cons:
The cleanliness and furnishings in the apartment is very substandard. I would not rebook here again based on that alone.

Pros:
The location is good. A shopping center is nearby with a Coles, restaurants, coffee shops, etc.

The swimming pool is large and inviting. There were a lot of people down there, and that was expected.

We arrived in the evening and therefore reception was closed. We entered our room and was taken aback by the stench. It was stomach churning. The carpet was disgusting, covered in stains of every description and piles of hair that the vac had obviously left behind. There was a hole in the bottom of the bath the size of a $2 coin. It looked as it has been speared! The toilet had dried vomit down the side of it. The skirting boards had a couple cm of dust and dirt. The balcony furniture consisted of ONE plastic chair and that was broken. The following morning when we checked in I mentioned how terrible it was. The receptionist was very nice about it and moved us to another room. The second room was much better but the place in general is looking run down and badly managed. It's such a shame because the location is fantastic. That alone though wouldn't make me return. We will find alternative accommodation next time.

Stayed at the Chevron Towers to 6 days and 5 nights... One word.. Disgusting..!! Bins weren't emptied, bathroom sink was clogged, shower/bath was mouldy, tiles weren't mopped, the room was just and absolute disaster!! Found some chips stuffed underneath the couch, obviously the cleaners don't know how to do there job. The only thing good about this hotel is the outdoor pool. Staff are rude, I told them about our clogged up sink on the first day we got to QLD and they never came to check it!! Avoid at all cost.. It is not your money, the views are cr*p anyways! The location is beautiful, but this is my third QLD, and the first 2 times u stayed at the Manyra on Cavill which is a thousand times better than the chevron. I would have rather slept on the floors steps of the Mantra than the chevron. I will attach a few pictures.

The only good thing about this place is the location, but I would rather stay a few blocks away from the main area then stay here again. The floors were dirty, the pillows had mould on them, furniture was very old, the basin was clogging up, toilet started leaking, when you called reception about the issues they didnt get back to you, if you want extra towels you have to pay, the pool if filled with kids and unless you get to the pool at 7am you probably wont get a chair. There is a $50 fee if you leave the dishes unwashed which is fair enough but then there is also a $50 fee if you use the dishwaashing detergent they provided for you,

I've stayed in chevron surfers paradise many times but on this occasion I've found that whilst there are rules for safety of guests, chevron has gone overboard this time! They seem to have security guards look at yr every move! Kids can't play ball games in pool, god 4bid one shld burn toast guests will incur bill for fire dep attending(over $1000)! Rooms must be practically be given a full clean on leaving or a fine will occur! If any marks r made on bedspreads, again fee will incur! Was told by one security guard that council located across from towers have CCTV cameras & I didn't go on balcony cos for fear of being perved on! We were told we wld have two bathrooms & 2 tvs but on arrival one bathroom, one tv & with kids it was unpleasant cos one wanted to watch one thing & the other another! With toilet within bathroom kids wld use pool toilets when bathroom was occupied! We asked for toilet roll & were told it wld cost $1 & we required batteries for tv remote again asked to buy our own! Beach towels $2.50 per day so we bought cheap ones! Fair enough if we were paying $100 per nite but for a two bedroom apart we were paying close to $400 per nite! Internet was $15 per day! Just felt uncomfortable whole time in case anyone of us broke something, tipped a glass over,if in shower that not too much steam wld come through, cooking we kept balcony doors open as advised cos fire alarms were very sensitive! I recently stayed at palazzo Versace & felt welcomed, they cleaned & changed towels, toiletries everyday, staff were fantastic & not much difference in price! Also no views of beach, being in the heart of surfers just added stress with road traffic, party goers etc! Goodbye chevron & never ever again!

Room Tip: Well in our case we thought we wld have two bathrooms, two tvs, ocean views & upon asking for diff...
