“Good location, quality of apartments inconsistant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2006

First apartment we were given was horrible (11th floor). Terribly outdated decor, sub-standard kitchen appliances, no dishwasher either. Bathroom poor quality. Poor quality all round and received electric shocks off most metallic surfaces.

Upon talking to Reception, were given another room on the 13th floor. Much nicer in appearance. Kitchen was modern and overlooked the river/city side of Surfers - great sunsets. The Lounge/Dinning/Bedrooms /Bathrooms were large and well furnished.

The balcony was on the sth/eastern side and had great views of the beach, Cavill Ave and sunny most of the day (as the balcony received a little afternoon sun as well on the far end).

The pool, spa, bbq area was great and overlooked the sea. I found that the sun moved off the pool area mid afternoon though.

The position of the resort was close to beach/bars/shopping/restaurants in the heart of Surfers. We didn't really require our rental car for a couple of days.

The bathroom roof in the ensuite was rusty around the joins but generally 100% improvement from the 11th floor apartment. The bed in master bedroom was broken and sagging (I had to move 20cms down from the headboard so I could fit into the curvature of the mattress.

It was a pity that we weren't told at time of booking that the indoor sauna and spa areas were closed due to renovations.

In general, we were happy with the service and accommodation.

  • Liked — Location to hub of Surfers - Great!!!
  • Disliked — The bed was sub-standard
  • Tips/Secrets — You don't need a car staying here. the supermarket is in the mall over the road, so is Cavill Ave!

Located in the centre of Surfers Paradise.

We arrived on a Saturday night, and found it to be a little noisy, even on the 16th Floor. Sunday to Thursday was no problem, but Fri was a little noisy also. Not rock concert loud, but noticeable.

Beach is at end of Street (100-150m) and Cavill ave Mall about a 2 minute walk.

We had a one bedroom apartment which was clean and roomy, with full size fridge, microwave and oven/cooktop.

Views along the beach, as well as over surrounding area of Surfers Paradise.

The view has one drawback. The rooms face East, and with the sun comming up reasonably early, the bedroom becomes very light. Perhaps something could be done to better shield sun from the bedroom windows??

Plenty of Tourist shops nearby, plenty of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets abound!

Pacific Fair shopping centre 10 minute drive, and Theme Parks 15 - 30 mins deping on park and time of day.

My wife and I stayed for a week in a one bedroom appartment on the 10th floor. The appartment we had offered very good views of the beach from our balcony. The appartment itself was very basic although clean. The kitchen area was adequate for the meals we wanted to prepare. The lounge area had a TV although the reception was not brilliant. There was no Video or DVD player. The only radio in the appartment was a clock radio by the bed. The bathroom was clean and large enough. There was a ceiling fan in the bedroom and a pedestal fan in the living room. The unit we stayed in had no airconditiong.
Having said all that we were very comfortable. However, in the summer months perhaps the rooms may get hot without the airconditioning.
The pool and lawn area is very nice although we went to the beach rather than sit by the pool. The location is excellent as it is close to everything although could be a bit noisy during the busy periods. To sum up good position, good size appartment and reasonably priced. We would stay there again.

  • Liked — Location and view from room
  • Disliked — Poor TV reception

I've stayed there twice, July 2004 & June 2005. I would recommend to anyone and will stay there again! The service is great, the location is great and the view is fantastic. About 2 minutes walk to Cavill Ave, and across the road from the beach, it couldn't be more convenient! The cars driving down the Esplanade at night, on Fridays and Saturdays isn't so great, but I guess that's just part of the busy Surfers Paradise life. Another bonus is the great deal...accommodation, car hire & themepark ticket.

Surfers International apartment hotel at the goldcoast australia was the best choice that i could do for my family of 4 adults.

My review to this apartment was far beyond its expectation. The value for the price stay was very good. The interior was clean and unique... Please note all apartment room levels in this hotel are indivual design and can not be promise where they would put you at.

The 2 bedroom rooms (one large bedroom with a dubble sizes bed with a separate bathroom and toilet was very good) but the bed was cheap when laying on it.

the second bedroom with 2 single beds wasnot so good due to the factthe room was very tiny and could not put thingsaround but the class slide wardrops had a large room to put your cloths in on both 2 bedrooms.

The kichen was fantastic very modern design but all levels may have a different old to new designs without notice.

the dineing room and the tv lounch room in one space room was very good.. great dineing table and chairs and the sofas, Again all room levels with the furnitures may be different from old to new individuals.

The palcony was very large strech from the start of the 1 bedroom room to the opening tv lounch room.. very good views and 100% happy what i get.

Problem with this hotel is that most of the windows where too dirty and abit hard to see thru the windows.

The kichen had everything from plates to ultencils and microwave.

The apartment had Intercom but it was not use due to the fact we had our key to come and and come out.

The tv was good not old and perhaps it was 5years old 51cm screen. We hire DVD machine player for just 25.00 for the period time stay.

The problem with this hotel was that even if we did had the windows and slide doors close we could still hear the sound from the outside day and night specialy the cars.. the bed was not the best and i think it was a cheap bed and so i didnt slept too good but it was OK but dont expect a 5 star confy bed.

the small bedroom with the 2 single beds was a cheap bed and again i didnt slept on the bed and instead slept on the couch. Again the mirror class warddrops where large with large open space for your lugages on both bedrooms. next to the small bedroom with the 2 single beds there was a small hallway with a separate toilet (very tiny) and a separate room for a large open space to the washing machine and washing facilities to cloth dryer and in there was a barthtub with shower and it was large very good.

Carpet on some areas and tiles to some. I recommend this apartment for any 4 adult family to stay for a great week or weekend. the 1 bedroom apartment levels do have a much smaller palcony.

I recommend and will be going again. the staff was freidnly and only would respond to your question if you ask them something atherwise it is business as usual. The security enterence was good. you will be givin a special key to even open the entrence and also a special key to turn the lift. there are 3 lifts. in my photos taken will see the lift and front of that is the entering of your holiday stay. We stay on the higher level and it was very good views but windows too dirty.. This is a gereat room for a very short stay budget.

the apartment is a curve shape building. one of my images taken is faceing from the back side that looks tinier but front makes it look wider. enterence and reception is at the back.

I visit the Sunny Gold Coast once a year for a short weekend break and this time round we chose Surfers International.

Firstly, the location is SUPERB! Literally a 3 minute walk to Cavill Avenue (restaurants, shops, timezone, attractions etc.) and right on the beach with beautiful uninterrupted views. (see photo)

The hotel has many recreational activities so if you are'nt a big shopper or surfer, you can enjoy your time relaxing by/in the sparkling pool (see photo). There is an indoor spa, male & female saunas and gym and an outdoor spa. On top of these facilities there is a free BBQ area by the pool with sink, 2 BBQs, table and chairs.

The staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly and answered all of the questions we threw at the with a smile.

The hotel has good security systems including key-operated lifts and main doors as well as key/sensor operated locked parking facilities.

My friend and I travelled with another pair and we had different rooms, we did prefer ours but they were equally as happy. (see photos) Both had kitchens (oven with hotplates, microwave, fridge, sink, kettle, toaster etc) and a roomy private bathroom including shower, toilet and sink. The balcony on our room was bigger than the other room, both however loungers/table & chairs and had a perfect view out to sea. The rooms also have cable TV (sports, movie channels, music, news, discovery & cartoons) and very comfy chairs to watch it in!

Overall we were extremely happy with the hotel. It was a great price at $105p/n and give it 5 out of 5. We would definately return!
