“A ++ Service and Accommodation - Highly recommended....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

Stayed two weeks at this property with my husband and two teenage sons in a one bedroom executive apartment on level 7. Cannot fault anything, the on-site managers, Sue and Joy were always approachable, attentive and made sure our stay was a positive experience. The room was excellent, very clean and facilities all in working order. Main bed was very comfortable. We have just recently returned from an overseas holiday in the USA and would say that the Palazzo was the best accommodation we have stayed in for some time. In all apartment type accommodation the guest receives a toiletries starter pack and then after one week the apartment is cleaned and these items are again replaced. It is the guests responsibility to purchase these items in between services. This is also noted in the Guest Information binder located within the rooms. Towels are washed every 7 days and there are airers supplied to enable guests to dry their towels on the balcony. As for the pool, we used it almost every day in the late afternoon when there were alot of other guests using it too, it was always clean and a fun environment. Whilst swimming in the pool we would frequently speak to other guests who all commented on how pleasant their stay had been at the Palazzo. Cavill avenue is less than one kilometre from Palazzo, there is a games room which is always clean and checked, no broken ping pong bats or machinery, our sons used it almost every day as well. The beach is a 3 minute walk, Surf club also 3 minutes walk away offering great food and ocean views. Once the light rail is operational this will be an even more convenient location to stay in. We will definitely be back on our next holiday to Surfers Paradise.

Room Tip: Ocean side rooms have ocean breeze, however can be a little noisy due to light rail being constructe...

I have never stayed in an appartment where you have to supply your own toilet rolls, and wash your own towels if you want clean ones !! This aspect was a little disappointing, to say the least. Decor was a little tired and worn and the carpet was not clean. The pool filter was never on, and although when I approached staff about the state of the water, I was told it was cleaned and tested every day. On a brighter note, the position was great, (except for the road works at the front, preparing for the light rail) !! The view to the Ocean & on the other side the River and Hinterland was just magic.

Just spent 5 nights here in a 1 bedrroom Executive apartment, very comfortable we were given the top floor ocean view it was very nice, apartments are nothing spectacular a little tired, but was very clean and thats what matters to me, great air conditioner so cold we had to turn it off at night.
TV had great reception very clear, apartment had everyting you needed, The two ladies at the front desk could not have been nicer very friendly.
Used the Pool a few times, was nice but would have liked it be a little cleaner than it was.
Overall we had a great stay and would consider staying again.

Stayed at these apartments during December/ January 2012. Location was good - short walk to Cavill Avenue but away from the hustle and bustle and close to the beach. Our apartment on the second floor was clean and roomy but no view unfortunately. Pool area was nice and reception staff were friendly. All in all we had a pleasant stay here with no issues. Having a baby I would probably choose to stay somewhere a little bit closer to the centre of Surfers next time.

The location was excellent within close proximity to the heart of Surfers Paradise and the beach but the receptionists were not helpful and grumpy ladies. Requested for a simple direction, they were not helpful. Requested to call for a taxi and the reply was "No, you have to ring your own taxi." I thought that wasn't the essence of hospitality at all. I have travelled across the globe and have experienced hospitality from many parts of the world and I can say that this treatment was appalling. Would I recommend this place to others? Yes and No, depending on how you see it.

No doubt it is affordable but it is appalling to receive such treatment if you're here on your holiday and they weren't helpful at all.

Booked accommodation for 4 adults + an infant. Has all the necessary facilities , and then some. Rooms are kept clean and is ideally located near the beach, but far enough from the hustle and bustle of the mains streets of Surfers. Prices are beyond reasonable and far more affordable than some of the other crappier motels / inns laying around

Room Tip: Penthouse for families

Excellent Accom, Friendly Staff, Excellent Location. we got a level 3, apartment which really was a level 2 apartment as the was no G level which was really a misnomer, changed from a level 5 apartment which the carpets were being cleaned that day. The Apartments are located on the southern part of Surfers, its a 7 or so minute walk to Surfers Centre, close to Translink Highway services. Road Construction and Gold Coast V8's track construction did affect getting there allot of closing and diversions on the streets of Surfers. Making it very difficult to get to Colonnades from the South and North by car. The Apartment had kitchen, Small Laundry, ensuite we also got the Queen bed (apparently not so comfy) and the separate fold out lounge (which i found comfy), LCD TV with some Paytv channels and Digitals, Room was facing West with a main bedroom balcony facing east onto Surfers Paradise Bvd. The Swimming pool area is nice with BBQ, Gold Coast Hwy is stones throw from where the swimming pool was. Great place may stay again Btw your Games room I didn't use but visited once because i was in the parking garage area and the Games Room is garbage with video games that are as so old as the building allot of the video games are that old and worn out the television screen has turned a different colour or blown up (come on presentation!) plus there was vomit outside the games room which wasn't cleaned. 4 and half Stars you lost half a star for presentation.

Room Tip: some apartments complexes in Qld do not believe in Level G, they start at 1 so don't get you hop...
