“NEVER AGAIN!!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 19, 2011

We stayed on the 20th floor, cheap prices...The only good thing about this place was the view nothing else,, This 2 bedroom appt was dirty, old, smelled real bad and we had extra guest in the kitchen >> ants ants and more ants !!.. Cushions were ripped, no aircon, ceiling fans were ready to fall off, made too much noise, door handles missing from most doors,, very poor gym, outdoor pool always heated, who wants to swim in heated pool on a hot day!!!! play ground too old cob webs all over sun cover ripped and hanging over the playground,, and to top it off the staff don’t really give a s.....t as long as they got our cash.. never again even if its free !!!!!!!!!!!

We looked into your comments and note that you stayed early in 2010 and delayed 9 months in writing a review about . Since November, 2010 Hi Surf has different ownership and despite the unusual late posting of your review, we are saddened to hear of your unpleasant experience. We would be pleased to demonstrate to you that your complaint from last year is not warranted now and would welcome you back with a special consideration.

We have been coming here annualy for several years!!The place has slowly gone down hill!!The body corporate recently renovated the common areas which are great!!Sadly too may owner occupiers and the investors whose rooms are for hire are generally run down.We stayed in in 2 bedroom apartment.

Views excellent!!Thats about it!!
Rooms smelt mouldy from water damage!!
Kids room was filthy with dust 1 cm high in places. After first hight kids had bed bug bites!!
Bought mortein, tore the bed bases apart and sprayed everywhere.Ther were bed bugs even behind the picture frames.
Complained to the new contract cleaner. Packed up and went to the Crown Towers and enjoyed our holiday!!

There is a lot of good changes since 2010. We stayed 8 days on 27th floor, so everything : price, service, new elevators, new furniture in the rooms was great! Will return next year-)

This is where you want to stay in Surfers but not to close to Cavil Ave. The facilities are brand new and they have done a great job. Our room on the 16th Floor was great, the views exceptional. Unfortunately the onsite Managers are so Rude and unhelpful. When we enquired about all the noice from teenagers that had 2 rooms on the same floor at 3 in the morning "Boys will be Boys" nothing they will do about it. There was one lady on receiption who was lovely (Aileen). The onsite managers need to take a good hard look at how they treat guests paying good money. If you don't like your job LEAVE!

Booked for 1 week as attendning a 3 day conference at a close by hotel, sharing with my teenage son. We had a 2 bed 2 bath apartment. On 15th floor overlooking the sea, fab views. No aircon but did not matter as the sea breezes and large opening doors make it easy to refresh the room.
Apartment 15B was a little tired but they are refurbishing apartments while we were there, loverly and roomy. Main bed was great, singles in second room need replacing, sagging a bit. Good security, tried tennis court, did not use the pool as it was a little cool weather wise. Most tour operators pick up from High Surf so a car is not really necessary, we did not have one for our week stay.
The gym was basic but ok, and we could not use before 8.30am which was a problem with our conference times, as we normally train early before sitting down all day!
Kitchen fairly well equipped, we walked about 10 mins into town & shopped at Coles and got a taxi back with our shopping about $10-15 for the trip. You do need to get kitchen supplies as only 1 days worth of dish detergent is supplied, we left behing our large bottle for the next guest & roll of garbage bags. You just need to put out your rubbish on checkout on the same floor in a special cupboard/chute, very easy to use. We did have a few small things need fixing and left a note with the staff on checkout to see to. For us the apartment suited us very well, very relaxing after a full day of conference.
Much prefer to self cater for longer stays, we booked via Flightcentre they matched the internet rate.....plus got insurance for our flights from WA & weeks accommodation for only $54 great for peace of mind.

We stayed on the 19th floor with fabulous uninterrupted views of the ocean, however, all the furniture was so broken down and worn out, that you ended up with bach aches, etc. just from sitting on the lounges and sofas. Also, the beds were so hard that everyone woke up every day of the week's stay, with neck and back aches! One of the most important things we require when away on holiday, is a good night's sleep. Staff were not genuinely friendly when approached at front desk. Only the girls who were cleaning were very friendly.

Not a bad place to stay, but not for me. The security is a bit of a overkill. The rooms are clean but dated.
The afterhours service is rude and hard to understand, but the pool, gym, and bbq areas all make up for it.

If you are travelling with friends, make sure you ask for the same floor, as access is restricted to the floor that you are on.
