We loved staying at Marrakesh. A 2 minute walk to the beach, 15 minute walk to both Cavil avenue and the main strip of shops in Broad Beach. Our booking included a $10 per head voucher for breakfast each day and we both enjoyed all of the options that we tried. We also made use of the rooftop barbeque terrace which is really well set up. Our apartment wasn't overly modern but it was very clean and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay there again :)

We stayed at the Marrakesh in June, 2012. Our 1 bedroom apartment overlooking the pool was well appointed with a full kitchen and separate laundry. We visit the Gold Coast often and usually change accommodation every time, but our stay at Marrakesh was very enjoyable that we will be returning for sure. Meals (breakfast and dinner) in the restaurant are of top quality and well priced. The indoor pool and spa is a welcome treat when the weather isn't that warm.Located between Surfers and Broadbeach and within easy reach of everything.
The beach is a stone's throw away. Definitely worth a stay.

We have just returned to the rain in New Zealand after a wonderful 9 night stay at the Marrakesh. The weather on the Gold Coast certainly made the holiday a special one but the Marrakesh was also a big contributor. We stayed in an ocean view apartment on the 8th floor. As others have said, the apartments are a little dated, but ours had recently had new capet and curtains installed so it was holding up ok. Very clean.
The young ladies on reception were very friendly - it was the guy with the bald head who was offhand and not very engaging so I guess it is luck of the draw as to who you get and what you experience.
Around 70% of these apartments are owner occupied which is great as many were not being used while we were there even though the 'no vacancy' sign was up. No crowds at the pool or in the restaurant. Lovely!
We loved going to the local bar (owned by the Crown Plaza) for their cheap and cheerful bar meals - lunch and dinner, and to watch some of the rugby games from home. Just walk down the drive out the back entrance (not the Surf Parade one) and there it is across on the opposite corner. Literally a 1 minute walk away.
Also, try the local bowling club - a 5 to 7 minute walk towards Broadbeach. Again, really cheap meals and drinks. Just sign in at the desk and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. We went there on a Monday night and had the BarraMonday (fish) special. A basic meal but for $12 it was just fine. We actually spent 3 hours there on our last day after we had checked out. We watched the ladies play bowls. We had lunch and a few wines to celebrate the end of a great holiday.
We paid $106 AUD per night for the 1 bedroom ocean view, and that included 2x$10 breakfast vouchers for each day we were there. Booked direct with the Marrakesh via their website. We will return.

We stayed in a superior appartment and friends stayed in a standard apartment on the upper floors. Ours was more spacious, but the other had a nicer outlook, away from the buildings towards the hinterland.
The positions is right between Surfers and Broadbeach so it is nice and quiet.
The restaurant downstairs (Kesh) is good.
It a short walk to the beach.
I'm happy to recommend it.
