“Clean, private and close to everything”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2013

We stayed for three nights at Paradise Isles in January 2013. Although the apartment was quite cheap by Gold Coast standards, it was a very pleasant stay. It was quiet, we had an extensive outdoor area outside our bedroom and the pool looked very clean and well kept (we didn't get in). It was so good to be outside the chaos of Surfers Paradise and Chevron is a gentle walk to Cavil Ave. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at Paradise Isles for five nights during the New Year peak season. Paradise Isles is an apartment hotel, so only the physical facilities, utilities, towels, and minor consumables such as starter bars of soap, toilet paper, and coffee/tea are provided. There is no maid service or changing of towels and linen, but each unit has its own refrigerator, stove, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, and wash tub. Individuals own the units, so furnishings are not uniform throughout the building. Our unit had adequate furnishings and a very large patio area which we did not use. We had apartment 3 on the ground floor next to the resident manager's apartments and office counter and next door to a couple with a two year-old and a one year-old. So we had quiet enjoyment of the apartment about 70 per cent of the time. As for the other 30% of the time, there is no quiet enjoyment when there is no quiet.

The positives include:
• Very friendly and helpful lady in the office.
• There is a swimming pool, and every time we passed it, someone was using it.
• Walking distance to center of Surfers Paradise
• Each apartment is assigned one parking space in the garage. The garage hardly ever seemed even half full even though there was a "no vacancy" sign posted throughout the five days we were there. We understand many guests do not bring cars.
• There are a lot of good shops, supermarkets and restaurants on Thomas Drive. Some restaurants such as Samphire Bites and Bangkok Thai are very highly rated by TripAdvisor contributors, and we recommend them both.
• Small but good TV with good channels. We noticed there was a VCR under the TV.

Not so positives
• Room 3 is next to the manager's window where there is a lot of activity just outside the door.
• It is pretty easy to hear what is happening in the next apartment because the walls and doors don't do much to stop the sound. So quality of stay depends on neighbor noise or not.
• Wi-fi is comparatively expensive (think it's A$16 a day), so we used a Vodafone SIM card with data for Internet, but mobile phone connection in that area wasn't strong enough for applications such as Skype.

We stayed in six hotels during our visit to Queensland. We would rank Paradise Isles number 6 out of 6 due to the occasional neighbor noise mainly from the family next door and expensive Internet. Still, our stay was very good overall, and we suspect it is a much better deal than more expensive hotel space in Surfers Paradise.

Thankyou for your review after your 5 night stay with us at Paradise Isles.
As you have reported, all apartments are one bedroom, individually owned and are just like a flat, which is fully self contained, with full laundry, full kitchen and all utensils to cook for yourself. All apartments are furnished the same at Paradise Isles.
The apartment next door to you, had an owner staying over the Christmas break, and we are very sorry the children were a little noisy.
We are so glad you tried out the restaurants on the Island and gave glowing reviews. Chevron Island is certainly a very friendly and social place to dine and has all your requirements, and it is only a 5 minute walk down the end of the street.
Apartment 3 is requested often by repeat guests, as it is away from the swimming pool and has a very quiet back balcony and is on the ground floor. It can be busy at the office, but has many other qualities guests appear to like.
We have Foxtel which is free, free undercover parking, but the Wireless Internet has a small charge, which can be purchased direct from the provider and used with a password to log on and off for your own convenience. Cost is cheaper per hour the more hours you purchase.
You are correct in saying we do have very reasonable accommodation and very clean apartments. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us and I enjoyed our many interesting chats at reception.
Thankyou for staying with us.

This is the second time that we have spend Christmas and New Year's at Paradise Isles. The coupel managing the place are really nice and it is a quiet spot only 10 minutes walk from the beach. We woudl like to point out that we get our pastry from the Sorrento Bakery and the appartments are very well equipped. Undercover/secure parking is great in particular because you don't want your car to be heated up. There is a covered BBQ area that guests usually share. The washing machine requires some adjustment as you have to change the hot and cold water supply and they run only for a short period of time, but you can put the timer back if you want a longer wash.
The place is rasonably priced and very clean. We look forward to returning soon.

Manuela,
Thankyou for your review and we are happy you enjoy staying with us. The washing machines are mostly are only hooked up to cold water, and this may have been one of those machines. I will check which apartment you stayed in and have this looked at.
Have a great 2013.

We stayed here after arriving from Airlie beach,it was another place we found from tripadvisor.
It was a nice quiet location & you're close enough to have a walk into surfers & enjoy the sights.
A good weeks stay & we will be back

This place had everything we needed and it was in a great location, minutes away from Surfers Paradise but not right in the city centre. The kitchen and utensils were very handy and we saved money preparing our own meals. Also great being able to wash and dry your own clothes. It's spacious and quiet. Very clean and tidy. Enjoyed the pool & spa. I don't think you'd find anywhere cheaper with the same quality. Friendly service too.

We spent a week at Paradise Isles and it was very good.Friendly knowledgeable staff, good amenities close by and only 10 minutes walk to Surfers. But at the same time far enough away not to be noisy, very quiet. All self contained and small shopping area 3 minutes up the road with all shops you would need. Very clean and comfortable, secure car parking all you need and at a reasonable tariff would recommend to family and friends and would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Ground floor if stairs are a problem for you
