“Perfect getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

We recently booked a studio room on Bookings.com for the Chateau Beachside, it's a nice 'older' hotel but our studio was extremely spacious with amazing views. Separate ensuite, kitchen with hotplates, microwave, toaster/kettle etc. for food preparation if you are wanting to save some $$ by dining in. A dining area for 4 as well as a sofa bed and flat screen TV.

It's winter in Oz ATM and the unit was extremely warm and comfortable with no need to rug up. May get very hot in Summer. There is a sliding door with a tiny edge as a balcony but you cannot sit on the balcony, just stand and take pix - pity because the view is out of this world.

Central location, a block from Cavill Avenue. Carpark facilities available if driving down during your booking, if you choose to leave your car after checking out or prior to checking in they will charge you :( Restaurant downstairs offering all you can eat breaky for $15 if you require this, but heaps of restaurant within walking distance with fast food outlets less than 5 mins walk.

This resort, is quiet which is a huge bonus for light sleepers. It is a studio so open plan living which was not a problem for our overnight stay, but if staying longer you may want more room. Much better than a hotel room for the same price.

Beautiful pool is available as well as two separate spas - too cold for us to use in Winter.

Some of the lighting did not work which was a pest when we arrived late one night as unable to find our way around - we did report this on checking out - hopefully this has been rectified. Also we could NOT get wifi to work.

Having foreigners at the front desk makes communicating rather difficult.

Room Tip: As for a high floor with ocean views :)

In a perfect location for all things in surfers paradise. We stayed 3 nights. We had the 1 bedroom room and was good for us as a couple. Had to dine out for every meal as there were limited facilities. Room was neat and presented well. Overall a good place and would recommend to others.

great location, in the heart of surfers paradise. great restaurants under the hotel - $15 buffet breakfast or $10 for a big breaky.
although the hotel is old, its extremely clean. the cleaners must do a great job!!
free parking, which is a bonus, alongside, opposite the beach.
the bed was super comfy as well as the pillows. I would stay there as it offers great value for money

Big rooms lots of space. Hit water. Flat screen TV and ocean views. Nice place. Only grump is that there is construction happening. Lots of loud drilling and noise from 8am throughout the day. Make sure you get a room high up to avoid the drilling through concrete. Great place otherwise...

Stayed here for 3 nights in June. Nice hotel in a very convenient location, short walk to lots of restaurants and shops and just a hop over the road onto the beach. Our room was large, comfortable but needs a bit of redecorating. Had a lovely beachside view which was a plus. Didn't manage to use the pool as it was too cold but the free DVD rental came in handy. Would definitely stay again.

This is by no means a 4 star hotel but for the price is has to be one of the best options in Surfer's... The room was old and a bit worn but was very large and had a great view over the beach. Hotel is situated right on the beach and close to restaurants and nightlife.
