“Not child friendly”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2012

My first gripe was paying another $10per day per vehicle to park what a rip off! Then the room smells like old wet dog there are old box style tvs on bench tops which in my opinion are downright dangerous for small kids, the bath was rusted and outdated. We got an interconnecting room as we had so many kids but there's not even a microwave in the room to heat meals or bottles a sink near the fridge would be nice to be able wash babies bottles not in the bathroom where hygiene is not the greatest! The glass sliding doors are terrible and need to be replaced the airconditioner is so old it barely works. The pool area is far too small for the amount of people and not nearly enough staff around it twice we had to request staff to remove older very rough kids from the little kids pool the spa was constantly overloaded which is very dangerous I'm surprised there has not been major accidents at this resort! We woke up Christmas morning to a huge domestic in the adjoining room we tried calling every person even the emergancy button and no one answered if not for the cleaning lady this fight could of turned very bad as it was the language used was disgusting enough, once the staff finally came they acted in an appropriate manner and assured us they were sorting it out. My fear is that when there is an emergancy and no one answers what happens when it's someone's life in jeopardy? The management need to sit down and get this sorted before someone gets hurt!
On a good note the staff are fantastic even on Christmas Day the lunch was great and staff were very happy and attentive 10/10 for staff
The food was good but I think a bit limited after 3 days of the same stuff it's a bit boring and all the "extras.?like bacon and eggs at breakfast come on I've never paid extra for that at a buffet
This was our first trip here and unless they update and get some emergancy plans in place we won't be returning and unfortunately wouldn't recommend it to others which is sad because it has the potential to be great.

Dear Bertier
Thank you for your review of Paradise Resort,
We are surprised to hear that you don’t find us child friendly as we have built our reputation in trying to be just that. We don’t have emergency buttons in the rooms and a receptionist is always available to take your call, especially in the case of an emergency. So we are not sure how we can help you there. We do wish you luck with your future holidays and with your endeavors to find a child friendly resort that meets your needs.
Kind Regards
Glen & the Team

Just returned home from a 3 night stay. Our room was comfortable but tired (bath rusty, and wardrobe door fell off). Also terrible smell of damp. Our kids 6 and 7 yrs had mixed experiences in Kids club and it was diffcult to get them to go in. My son complained of being bullied which was a worry and lollies were thrown on the ground for the kids to eat (which was filthy). The waterslides are great but there were lots of adults running around and playing on them which was dangerous for the smaller kids. Why are adults allowed in a kids area? At wetnwild kids slide area, it is much safer with an age limit. The pool is too small for amount of guests. Good kids playground and great entertainment though. This resort has great potential but we wouldnt stay there again as we went for the kids club and it was a real struggle to get our kids to go in.

Dear Keith H,
Thank you for your review of Paradise Resort,
We are sorry to hear that your children didn’t enjoy kids club. The kids normally have a great time in this area. We will also keep a better watch of the adults using the kid’s slides. We are disappointed that you didn’t enjoy your stay and do hope you will give us a second chance.
Kind Regards

We stayed for 5 nights at paradise resort. While we were initially disappointed with the state of the rooms, the place itself was awesome. The facilities for kids were great. The staff was extremely helpful and did not mind any help that was asked for. My only feedback would be to increase the variety of food on offer in the cafe.

We took the promo offer of $500 resort credit and it was an awesome deal. Will def come again!

As first time guests we had a great time. The room was simple but had everything we needed. Kids club & facilities were great but the place could really use a second pool. The pool was closed twice in 2 days for hours due to little accidents that could be avoided with more than 1 pool. We had some frustration with the lack of any veges or healthy food for the kids - can understand a few days without but you need some decent food after 7 days of hot dogs & pizza. Having to pay for undercover parking- give me a break! Another issue we had was with the scheduled kids events always running either half hour early or late but rarely on time. For a kids resort I can't understand why the pool was still open after 9pm or music at bar still playing after 8pm - some kids need sleep! Even though the slides & pool were supposed to close at a certain time, they were open for hours later so none of the times for anything were accurate. Overall we really enjoyed our stay & will definitely try to come back but it is far more suited for older kids (6+) rather than very young ones unless changes made.

Stayed at Paradise Resort for the second time, this time in a Resort room. These rooms are clean and tidy but some maintenance needs to be done on the front door and glass sliding doors leading onto the balcony. Would like to see a microwave in the Resort room. The King bunkhouse that we had last time was excellent. Mind you, we spent little time in the room as the resort has an excellent entertainment and activity program. We barely saw our kids! They love Zone for Kids and my son can't wait for Planet Chill and Teen Zone. The Spring Special price package was great value for money and was the reason why we chose this resort over others on the Gold Coast. Staff are always friendly and helpful. We had a great time - again. Thank you Paradise Resort.

Room Tip: I asked for a quiet room and got it - located away from pool and cafe/bar area. We were in room 21...

This resort is unapologetically aimed at families and was a great choice for my last trip to the Gold Coast with the kids in December 2012. As stated in most of the other reviews, the rooms are somewhat dated, but they are clean and comfortable enough. We didn't spend much time in our room anyway, so the decor didn't matter much. However, the room did have a somewhat unpleasant smell (I though it was like a wet dog rolled in orange sherbet) I did get used to it, but every time I went back inside it hit me. Change the cleaning products maybe?? The complimentary soaps are hopeless - like a pellet of compressed chalk, so take your own. The pool area and kids' water playgrounds are fantastic and it's easy for the kids to spend a day playing in the water while parents relax nearby. However, if you want a shady place to sit you will need to get to the pool early as there are only a few umbrellas. The regular playground it pretty decent, too and is covered by an enormous shade sail. The 'Zone 4 Kids' program is also outstanding. My kids loved it and couldn't wait to go back. Staff were very welcoming and positive with the kids, especially my daughter, who was a bit wary at first. Be aware that the lift from the carpark is very slow and seems to have a mind of its own at times. The secure carpark under the hotel cost extra ($10 per day I think), but I felt it was worth it to keep the car out of the sun and reduce the distance to the room. Overall, a good experience with the family. Hope to go back next year!

We had two nights here after a night at Seaworld Resort. The rooms are in desperate need of a refurb, but they were clean. The rest of the resort is a bit dated but the facilities for the kids were fantastic. The staff are amazing and the kids activities were awesome. The food in the cafe and restaurant was simple, fresh and tasty and even better than some five star resorts i have stayed at ( thats saying a lot because i am a food snob). Highly recommend for a few days where you get to relax whilst the kids have a blast. Highly recommend the lychee mojito..yum.
