My stay at this location was a horrible experience. Unfortunately it was the last hotel we stayed in during a long trip around Australia and the second hotel we stayed in at Surfers Paradise.

First of all I booked this hotel over the internet believing I had just booked a 5 star hotel... which is definitely not the case.

Upon check-in, the extremely rude front desk staff charged my credit card an extra $120 IN ADVANCE, just in case I decided to consume the entire contents of the mini-bar (or so they explained). I understand this may be the hotel's policy, however, they did not even bother to ask for my authorisation before doing it. Upon complaining to the manager, he decided to return the money but refused to apologise for the incident.

The weather was cold during my stay at this hotel, the room's air conditioning was broken (could only cool the air and took more than 3 hours to warm up). The bed did not have a doona, bed cover or blanket and only had 2 sets of white cover sheets instead. The closest thing to a warming device was a 30cm wide foot comforter on the bottom part of the bed. Much to our surprise, this foot comforter was REMOVED on the second day of our stay!, in addition to this, the aircon was set to the lowest temperature while we were outside the room.

The balcony was dirty and littered with cigarette butts, the towels smelled, the tv did not have any free cable TV channels, meals were insanely overpriced and to top it all off... management inspected the mini bar every morning at about 9.00am regardless of wether we had a "do not disturb" sign displayed on our door.

Our stay at this place was so miserable that we tried to cancel our stay to go to a different hotel, the manager, "Ken", then stated he would not refund any money and that we would be fully charged for the entirety of our booking!.

Once again... an awful awful experience...

  • Liked — The large carpark
  • Disliked — Everything else, particularly the rude staff and unequipped room.
  • Tips/Secrets: — Don't stay here, even if it's for free.

I guess you get what you pay for, but I found the hotel to be very good value. The rooms are becoming a little dated but are still pleasant with very good balconies and good views.I found the service to be excellent (although the hotel was not fully occupied).Staff were efficient and pleasant. I would stay here again.;

This was sold to me as a 5 star hotel. Well, it may have been, 10 years ago. This is no better than a 3.5 star in many aspects. The rooms are old. No wireless internet, very complicated and extremely expensive broadband connection. Breakfast was very poor indeed. Forget service in the restaurant.
The beds were extremely uncomfortable, bathrooms badly in need of renovation, TV channels hopeless.
If you ARE looking for 5 star accomodation- this is NOT where you want to stay.
