Family holiday with two teenagers. From the moment we walked in, felt like royalty. Offered chocolates while you check in. Front desk staff always look like they are pleased to see you. The pool area is amazing. Tropical fish pool brilliant. Housekeeping are lovely ladies. Only shock to the system was the $156 breakfast! Nothing seemed too much trouble. Cheap parking downstairs at $10 per day. Thanks marriott.

Visited here for just one night for a quiet weekend away from brisbane.
On arrival, the entrance is beautifully done, staff attentive, with speedy service.
Stayed in ocean veiw deluxe room for the hefty price of $399 without breakfast?
The lagoon resort area is excellent, beach bar, music and a general great vibe.
The room decor seemed a bit dated and bot to my liking, also was not overly clean.
The ocean veiw is across a large main road, and not worth the extra money.
Overall a great place to chill by the pool, and inly a 15 minute walk to cavill ave, will definitely visit again but would opt for a cheaper room as the resort itself is the main reason to visit here.

Dear Terry

Thank you for visiting our resort recently and for taking the time to review your stay on Tripadvisor.

We love hearing feedback from our guests and are glad that you were both impressed with our resort and facilities overall.

All of our guest rooms were remodelled as part of the resort’s refurbishment completed in 2011 and were fitted out with flat screen TVs and new contemporary furnishings. Each room boasts views of either the Gold Coast Hinterland and Surfers Paradise skyline or the Pacific Ocean.

The school holiday period over Christmas and into January is an extremely busy time at the resort with lots of families choosing to holiday here on the Gold Coast, but make sure you visit our website regularly for all of the latest specials and promotions that are available at other times throughout the year.

We do look forward to welcoming you back and thank you again for your review.

The Marriott provided virtually everything from a fabulous room to a great concierge service complete with a nice lounge room providing excellent food and drink options (was a super value for us). Also include a knock-out outdoor pool and waterfall set up that virtually all ages would find appealing and great dining options right on the property. All-in-all, the most "hip" and enjoyable Marriott I've stayed at and one of the best hotel experiences overall. The beach was just a very short walk and with the property being at the north end of the main Surfer's Strip, it yielded a great experience on the sand as it was not crowded at all.

Ok this hotel is beautiful to look at inside and out, however the reason we picked this hotel was because of their unique lagoon pool and we weren't disappointed it was amazing. They have a salt water lagoon beach with tropical fish swimming freely in the pool. You can snorkel in the pool and they have some really beautiful fish, it wonderful for adults and especially children. This resort is great for families as they have great activities for them to participate in.

You were able to hire snorkelling gear for $10 per 2 hours which i personally found was a bit ridiculous as at all other five star resorts around the world Iv'e stayed out don't actually charge for non motorised equipment but it maybe to help with the up keep of the pool who knows... Many people actually had their own snorkelling equipment.

This hotel has all the qualities you want out of a five star hotel. I feel it's one of the best in Australia. I have traveled around the world and I'm constantly disappointed with Australian five star hotels but this hotel is in a class of its own. It's a beautiful location with river and ocean views.
We had room service one night and it was quick and delicious. The seafood buffet restaurant was $85pp which was over priced compared to the other restaurants around the area but still looked nice.
It is a very busy hotel and took some time to check in and out as there were always a line at the front desk so the hotel may need to put more staff on in peak times of check in and check out.
We are already planning another trip here in January 2015. It's a great hotel and would recommend to anyone wanting a luxury and great facilities.

The only complaint I have, is that the pool bar staff were not on the ball. We were always trying to get their attention to order and they were very very very slow in picking up our used glasses. Everything else was fantastic!!!!

Our team are so glad to hear that you and your husband had such an enjoyable time here at the resort recently.

Our lagoon is always popular with guests of all ages who are looking for a unique experience and we are glad that you had the opportunity of enjoying this area during your stay.

I do apologise that there were some lapses in service when you were down by the pool and will make sure these comments are discussed with the team.

We look forward to welcoming you both back next January!

Just back from the Marriot for our 35th wedding anniversary weekend. The whole experience from check-in to check-out was wonderful. Every staff member was helpful, friendly and smiling and only too happy to assist in any way. The pool area is sensational and we would recommend the day bed hire for a relaxed and more personal space around the busy pool. Seafood buffet is superb and they even came out after our meal with a plate decorated with "Happy 35th Anniversary" written in chocolate- all because our waitress had taken the time to talk to us. This weekend was faultless , in a very beautiful venue with well appointed rooms. Highly recommended on the Gold Coast.

Room Tip: Hinterland view is just as good as ocean view - for less money.

We entered lobby through a seeming locker room, bags and trolleys scattered everywhere around the entrance. We had to guess where reception was and were quickly approached by a smiling lady who walked us to a queue to check in. She told us many of the hotel features and answered our questions with great knowledge. She excused herself graciously to get more staff from out the back to help with the queue. When we finally arrived at reception we were confronted with aggressive up selling, my wife asked if we paid for the suite could we access it immediately, sorry we were told there would be a wait on that room too, purely commission seeking was the motivation for this area, any wonder the queue was so long.
The Lady then saw us sitting in the lobby and to her credit engaged us in conversation organised us coffees and ensured us she would have us settled into a room as soon as possible and she would bring the keys to us.
We enjoyed our stay asexiting and entering the hotel over a few days, questions answered sometimes accurately sometimes not. Then the highlight of our stay, the lady was back, we steeped into the lift and we're greeted with a warm engaging smile, we were recognised welcomed and felt cared about, she showed empathy and enthusiasm and really lifted our experience at the Marriott.
I saw a comment on the hotels FB page about Lisa and my wife and I are so pleased to have met her now. What an asset she is , Lisa if you see this please know you have a gift with communication skills and your job suits you so well. To management of Marriott, you have a gem in your team, if not for her we would not consider returning to you hotel which is average at best.

Excellent location in the center between the attraction parks of dreamworld, whitewater world, Warner brothers, seaworld and the beautiful beaches of Gold Coast. The pool is excellent with fishes that you can swim with, with a slide and currents to play with

Room Tip: Get an ocean view and the retreat club a bit extra but well worth it
