“Spectacular Pool area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

This is a classy and lovely 5 star hotel. I was just a bit surprised and can't simply forget how the Front desk check in staff really insisted that we upgrade to an executive suite for a discounted price. She's trying her persuasive and sales strategy, but i knew the prices of some other 5 star hotels and resort in the area . I was not convinced at all. My advice don't just believe them unless you've done your research. The room is spacious and clean but their restaurant, a bit expensive. There are plenty of places to go and eat. Its our first time to stay, and what a disappoinment coz, it took more than half an hour for us to go to our room. Their was a bottle of champagne delivered (to our room )coz of the inconvenience. Yes, the pool area is just awesome, complete with cave -like feature with spa and slide.

Room Tip: Higher floors with hinterland view

We really appreciate you taking the time to tell us about your experience when staying at our Resort recently and thank you for your kind words.

While our Front Office associates always like to give our guests the option of upgrading to another superior room category upon check in, I do apologize for the way in which this was communicated to you. I have discussed this with our Front Office Manager so that additional training is provided to our associates and I would like to thank you for providing this feedback.

I also apologize that there was a small delay upon arrival and hope that this did not cause too much inconvenience to you.

Next time, please make sure you visit our teppanyaki restaurant Benihana, as we offer a fantastic earlybird special for $32.00 per person that is available every evening at 5.30pm and 6pm (excluding Saturday evenings) We also have an a la carte menu in Citrique and offer a light menu in the Lobby Lounge Bar too.

We hope to welcome you back again soon and again thank you for your feedback.

My husband and I were here for vacation.

First let me say every employee at this hotel was very nice.

I had requested a bottle of champagne online and we got a tasty chilled bottle of Australian champagne with a beautiful tray of fresh fruit and cheese.

Our room faced the ocean and the pool. Best room we've had and we travel often abroad.

The fresh beautiful breakfast buffet was delicious. The best smoked salmon.

Again, thanks for a lovely stay and I highly recommend making a stop here.

What a lovely hotel to stay for a romantic getaway. The rooms a spacious and clean. The Pool area is amazing very relaxing. the staff are very friendly. Short stroll from the beach and shops. The restaurants are a little expensive but there a plenty of places to eat close by if strapped for cash.

Room Tip: try not to visit November as it is schoolies week and heaps of teenagers partying. The rest of the...

I've stayed at the Marriott 3 times now. I love the lagoon and waterfall and the cave with spa and waterslide. Its beautiful. The day spa is fabulous I had a hot stone massage and a facial. Great service.
The hotel staff are really friendly and helpful.
Suggested improvements - free wifi in guest rooms not just in the lobby and the food for room service is not very nice.

Here on business and very impressed wi the facilities. How cool to have a faux salt water lagoon with fish and rental snorkeling gear. I thought initially that this was probably a "kid" thing but quickly realized that more adults were drawn to the idea. Beautiful grounds and water park leaves me wondering why lots of other hotels haven't installed the same kind of facility. This area als provides several areas for lounging comfortably with a drink and a book. Super clean rooms well decorated and comfortable. A little warm some nights and if you don't mind listening to the ocean you can open the door to your personal balcony. Internet cafe provides 4 computers and an area to hookup your own device while enjoying a snack or drink. Breakfast was great but expensive at $38 for the buffet. Ocean view rooms available. Road construction in front of hotel will
cause a litle inconvenience when turning in. Friendly staff and always helpful. Would come back if I were to visit the area again.

Stayed for one night over weekend with husband. Service in all parts was excellent. Room was quite warm overnight as the air con is fixed at 20 degrees at the lowest temp. There isn't a fan and to have the balcony door open was noisy. Breakfast was very overpriced for what we saw and wanted, so ventured out to local restaurant. If you want to feast at Breakfast, then I'm sure it's worth it! Alcohol was pricey too but bar and atmosphere made up for that. Ate at Benihana Japanese restaurant which was delicious and fun part of the stay. Beautiful hotel and surrounds. Only 20 min walk to shops along the esplanade.

It is nice to hear that you enjoyed your experience at the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa and were able to get away for a relaxing break.

Our breakfast buffet offered in Citrique is $36.00 per person Monday - Saturday and $39.00 on Sundays however there is also an a la carte menu option available in the restaurant which our team should have offered to you. Our coffee shop, Java+ also offers light breakfast options starting from $9.00.

When reviewing the beverage list in our restaurants and bars, we ensure that we are in line with what other 5 star properties are offering. Glad that you enjoyed the atmosphere in our Lobby Lounge Bar. It really is a beautiful space with views over looking the resort's landscaped gardens and lagoon area.

Benihana is always an entertaining night as the teppanyaki chefs love putting on a show for all of our guests as they prepare your meal in front of you.

Thank you for your kind comments and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

I have stayed at the Marriott many times over the years and always look forward to returning.sometimes there has been a few problems with minor things like door keys not working properly, but management has always made amends for the inconvenience with nice gestures such as a bucket of Corona beers.

The Japanese teppanyaki restaurant Benihanas is awesome, although expensive.

The main restaurant has an excellent seafood buffet which is all you can eat for around $37, and has the best oysters, prawns, smoked salmon, crab, sushimi etc. Then after you finish that its time to attack all the beautiful desserts!

Room Tip: I prefer an ocean view room as when in the Gold Coast its good to immerse yourself in the beach atmo...

We truly appreciate your loyalty to Marriott over the years and thank you for your support of the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa.

While there are always areas where as a team we can improve, we are extremely committed to ensuring all of our guests have a fantastic experience while at our resort and leave with a positive impression of Marriott.

Benihana is always a favourite, especially for some of our local guests who often celebrate special occasions such as birthdays with family and friends at the restaurant. It is great that you had the opportunity to experience our Seafood Buffet at Citrique too. Our Executive Chef sources local produce where possible and often visits the local trawlers for the freshest prawns. The Seafood Buffet is priced at $65.00 per person for lunch on weekends, and from $72.00 per person for dinner mid week.

We thank you again for your kind comments and look forward to seeing you again soon.
