Location, location, location. Add in some great history and you've got a great hotel. Our room was classic with beautiful woodwork and very comfortable beds. We overlooked the river and had a balcony if we wanted fresh air.

The bar was hopping on our Saturday night, but you could not hear it from the room. Maybe it was because my ears were ringing from a concert, but either way, we loved this hotel.

Breakfast in the morning was fabulous too. Get the bacon and eggs and their lattes were also tasty. Overall, I loved this hotel and would stay there again in a heartbeat! Very nice people work here and take good care of you.

“Good location, excellent room”

This hotel was cheaper than the hostels we had been staying in and was lovely. The location was excellent, overlooking the river and the place had got some history to it which made a pleasant change. (including a resident ghost!)

The room itself (a double) had its own ensuite, tv and fridge and was huge. It also opened out on to a large balcony.

We ate both nights downstairs in the pub which is also popular with locals. The food was very nice and the service great.

I stayed only 1 night, but my business colleague has been staying there for almost 4 months. We are from the States and I was skeptical when the raved about the hotel. How could a small small-town hotel be so good?

Well, my doubts where dispelled when i got there. The hotel is charming, has character and the bar is staffed with friendly staff. The locals were also extremely friendly. Definitely a place where the social element is present. If you want to interact with locals during your stay, this is the place to be.

The food was reasonably good, the portions generous. There's keno in the bar, if you want to gamble a bit. Since this place is downtown other entertainment options are available, among them a karaoke bar a few blocks away.

Parking is limited and the place doesn't have laundry facilities (you must drop the laundry at the front desk, which is charged by the pound). Wouldn't recommend it to families, but definitely to young couples or single people.

We stayed overnight at this hotel. The rooms in the hotel itself we were shown were a little tired looking/dark but we were offered self contained motel units out the back which were of a very high standard. We're a family of four and had 1 double bedroom plus livingroom with 2 beds, settees, huge tv, playstations, luxury bathroom, dining table fridge etc. It was really comfortable, quiet, spotlessly clean and the steaks they served for dinner were delicious. Well worth a look and great value too.

Stayed for two nights (including Melbourne Cup night) and found the hotel warm and welcoming. The bar was lively and friendly and the Bush Inn Restaurant excellent with the sort of steaks you'ld expect in the beef capital of Oz. Motel rooms at $85 were good value although no real natural light on the ground floor. Good location next to the river in the most historic street of buildings in the city. Maybe not for those seeking the quiet life but for a slice of Oz culture with plenty to eat and drink I can't imagine a better hotel in Rocky.
