We stayed here for a romantic 2 night stay on the welcoming offer.
Great first impression in the lobby and reception, swift check in. The resort is quite sprawling but easy to navigate after a few walks around.

The rooms were slightly smaller than I expected, a little on the dark side and was lacking the funky touches of the sister hotel we had stayed at QT Gold Coast, but comfortable none the less. The nostalgic contents of the mini-bar is a fantastic touch.

The pool area was lovely, very chilled out vibe with pool bar, music, kabanas etc. There is an on-site gym & tennis court. They are hostin Moonlight Cinema at the resort currently too, which is a nice touch.

The restaurant has a fantastic concept - modern buffet where you interact with the chefs. We really enjoyed the dinner and both breakfasts here. I would definitely recommend doing the dinner option one night.

Overall a fun resort with some good touches - table tennis, nice bar, friendly stuff.

Keep in mind, the resort is along the main road in Port Douglas (along with a lot of other resorts) and not walking distance to the town centre. There is a (paid) shuttle, but we had a car to get around, which was really convenient.

Dear EJK80,

Thanks for a wonderful and comprehensive review. I agree that the colour scheme is slightly muted when you are comparing QT Port Douglas and QT Gold Coast. Everything on the GC is blingy, so we have kept up with the programme! The Port Douglas look is much more refined.

There are so many wonderful reviews on here that make mention of Bazaar Marketplace, and it really does live up to the hyps.

We are so glad that you anjoyed your stay and we would love to see you again soon. Thanks so much for trying out teo of our properties. You should have a look at the new QT Sydney. It is designer overload! If you liked the Gold Coast property, you'll love this one!

The reception staff on arrival were very friendly and explained everything to us in a short time. Our room was lovely and clean and the decor was simple but very well thought out. We dined at Bazaar restaurant for both dinner and breakfast the next day. The service was outstanding from the staff at dinner and the food was presented well and tasted just as good. Hugh selection and would siut anyone's palate. Breakfast was also terrific and very well priced. One the I would suggest is a happy hour cocktail in the lobby bar before dinner

Dear Hollycolliewood,

Happy hour in the cocktail bar! That's a wonderful idea. We're going to have chat about that one. I know people love to have their cocktails before dinner, and it's so beautiful watching over the resort pool from the bar.

Sounds like you had a wonderful stay. We would love to see you back soon.

We were drawn to this place by its funky website and magazine reviews, and were not disappointed. This is quite a large resort style hotel but they've done a great job of giving it a design or boutique hotel feel, with stylish design and decor. The food served in the Bazaar restaurant was good and the room (one bedroom villa) was clean, modern and well-equipped, with great in-room purchase items. The large pool has some luxurious daybeds around it and is a pleasant spot to spend the day. The stylish bar was buzzing on Saturday night (although an unusually young set of clientele seemed a little out of place), the moonlight cinema was a great addition, and the gym and lap pool gave us all the things we were looking for. All in all a good spot and I hope they manage to maintain and develop the stylish edge that this palce has over resort hotels.

Room Tip: If you want quiet, don't get a room that looks over the pool.

Dear flashpackeramas,

Such a fun profile name! Thanks so much for letting us know that you enjoyed your stay. You're right about it being a precarious thing to manage the designer brand style of hotel, and imprinting this on a large resort property and we are delighted that you think we got it right.

I hope you come and stay with us again soon.

(formerly Rydges Sarbara Resort) From a cold southern state winter to the warmth of Pt Douglas. A warmth that was not only in the weather but in the amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Our one bedroom unit was really great with seperate kitchen and lounge and a great balcony to relax and enjoy a drink as the sun was setting. The restaurant is first class with a great variety of dishes and if that was not enough just speak with the chef and they will cook whatever you like. The property is clean and fresh, gardens neat and tidy and if you are around at the right time of day you can meet the local resident peacock who wanders the gardens. Well positioned to the main street via a walk or bus and close to the main beach, but with the lagoon pool who needs a beach.
Well done to the whole QT team. We will certainly be back and will stay longer. Aah the warmth.

Room Tip: For a couple the one bedroom garden view units give you a little more space and are away from the po...

Lucked out with a low cost "mystery" booking - what a find. Initial room was new, clean and modern. What you would expect for a quality resort at a bargain price. Mid stay we were asked to change rooms and offered and upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite. Fantastic. Loads of room, kitchenette, washing machine / dryer. Score +++ Staff were completely lovely and helpful.

Room Tip: Cheapy rooms are good, but might be worth spending a little extra for a 1 bedroom suite.

Dear PPP_11,

Wohooo! What an awesome pickup on a mystery hotel stay! You really did luck out. It's always wonderful to hear when a mystery guest has an awesome time. It's like have a mystery shopper in house!

We hope you choose to book us next time you are on the coast.
