At Latitude 16, with the ocean at your doorstep, the sun shining every day, and an atmosphere of pure relaxation, there is not much more you could ask for on holidays.
Daniel and his staff are exceptionally friendly and informative and go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable and trouble-free as possible. Upon arrival, Daniel made a point of finding out what we were interested in doing for our 8-day stay and then proceeded to give us wonderful advise on different day trips to choose from, which were the best tour groups to go with and we were never disappointed. And don't miss the Sunday morning market, where local artists and food vendors set up their stands with something for everybody.
Apart from being very spacious and clean, the apartments at Mowbray by the Sea are perfectly situated, with the beach only a few yards away, whilst "downtown" Port Douglas is just around the corner, the vast array of shops and restaurants all being within easy walking distance. We ate at some fabulous restaurants, but also made good use of of the BBQ by the pool, cooking local fresh meats (including kangaroo) and daily catches of fish such as barramundi.

We have been coming to ‘Mowbray By The Sea’ since 2000, and it continues to maintain its high standards. We love the close proximity to the beach (2 minute walk), and the quiet location it offers. The walk to the restaurants and main shops is flat and interesting and is a great thing to do after dinner if you plan to eat in. Eating in is a pleasant option as the kitchen facilities are very good and the large deck area is made for sitting, relaxing, consuming and enjoying the bird life (feathered variety that is) that abounds in this area.
The apartments are clean, well appointed, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom units with plenty of crockery and glassware. The pool area with it 25mt lap pool has a large BBQ and there always seems to be enough seating as different people use it in different ways throughout the day and early
evening.

Daniel, the on site manager couldn’t be more helpful if he tried and his knowledge of the local area and ideas of things to see and do is great. We have been coming to the Port for 11 years now and he tries to find us something that we haven’t experienced before and succeeds.
We spend 3 weeks at Christmas and occasionally a couple of weeks in July in this little bit of paradise and although we would rather keep it a secret how can you not let others know what a great place this is
to stay.

Fantastic location, close to shops and beach, lovely and peaceful. The front desk service is amazing, nothing too much hassle, great advice and all tour bookings taken care of.

Great for kids, beautiful pool area and all floaty toys on hand - awesome lap pool too. Rooms are not new but very comfortable, great outdoor garden area on ground floor and everything you need. Two bathrooms and the regular cleans and linen changes were very handy with three little children!

Have stayed at a lot of places in Port and just love Mowbray, will always come back there. We'd move in permanently if we could!

This was the 8th time our family have visited Port Douglas and our 6th time we have stayed at Mowbray by the Sea! The location is great with 4 mile beach about 50 metres from the front enterance ( if you stay in Apartment 5 it is 30 metres!) and a 3 minute stroll to town. The apartments are spacious enough and there is a large balcony area where we dined most nights. The pool is now heated and is great for kids and adults. Being smaller than some other apartment complexes, it isn't noisy or busy. Security is good. Daniel and Donna the on site managers are delightful, helpful and knowledgable and are there to make your holiday as memorable as possible. We have already booked for next year!
