“Great position, apartment and service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

We enjoyed a most comfortable and relaxing stay at Beaches Apartments and thought the management team provided outstanding customer service. We absolutely loved our room overlooking the pool and beach front, and particularly enjoyed the close proximity of the Beaches Cafe and the wonderful coffee they served.

A great holiday for me is one with as little choice and as little hassle as possible. At Beaches my daily decisions were: breakfast in the room or at the cafe downstairs, go to the pool or the beach across the road, dinner across the road at the slsc or a short work into the heart or town. It was great.

Great location, accommodation in very average condition, self contained kitchen left in poor condition with dirty crockery and utensils, leaky laundry in apartment constantl slip hazard. Basically the apartment needed some TLC considering the cost.
Pros : pool, outlook, proximity to main street, beach across road, off street parking, reasonably quiet.

Room Tip: If you don't need luxury then perfect apartment for coastal stay

My wife and I have just returned from Port Douglas after a two week stay at Beaches. It is the second year in a row we have stayed there and the complex is great. You are directly opposite the patrolled beach, takes about 30 seconds from the pool to the beach. All the rooms are are set around the pool. I noticed all the beach goers departing looking into our complex wishing they were on the other side of the gate in our pool. The rooms are great. We were in room 320 on the 1st level. The rooms have a full good size kitchen with great entertaining space. Our room had two large bedrooms. The whole apartment looked over both the pool and the ocean. We have four boys aged 9, 8, 7 & 3 and we fitted in comfortably. The management are fantastic. I have dealt with Lesley who could not be more helpful. Beaches, best beach holiday in Australia

Our stay was for five nights in this terrific apartment with pool and ocean views. A stones-throw from the monitored beach which was great for walks and jogs; we also could participate in the daily yoga. The resort pool was great and had noodles and kick boards for our daughter to use, there was also enough lounge beds. The cafe downstairs made good lattes and machiattos. Well-equipped kitchen and laundry with clean appliances; the new washing machine and dryer came in handy.

We loved this accommodation. Spacious apartment. Views over large pool area and ocean. Short walk to main shops and restaurants. Friendly staff and delicious food at the onside cafe. We really loved the location as it was close to the beach. Well equipped kitchen and nice and large balcony.

We stayed here this week and enjoyed the wonderful location opp the beach, surf club and next to a great cafe called Beaches. We also appreciated being upgraded to a 3 bed apt instead of a 2 bedroom one. However, after staying at Cayman Villas which was supurb in every way, the accomodation here was disappointing and not what is portrayed in the brochure and online, beware! Many other guests also commented that they had apartments which were very tired, in desperate need of a renovation especially for the premium price paid to stay here. On arrival the receptionist did not show us personally to our apartment, and we found a spider and flies in the shower/bath in the ensuite. The ensuite itself is very dated as is the kitchen nothing like the floorboarded modern picture on the brochure and online. The apartments were however very spacious and cool with air cons everywhere and had great views. Another negative was the extreme noise level here. We had 3 nights here and on two of them had to call security at 10pm to ask them if they could control the noise level from people on the level below. These apts are so close together and as they are old obviously are not double glazed or adequately sound proofed. Noise restrictions need to be put in place here. Also same neighbours decided to chat loudly on balcony around 6am which was very frustrating as well. The pool is so hot it makes you feel sick, no point going in to cool off. Others commented on this as well and when reported to staff they looked amazed and told me they hadn't heard that before. The pool is small and doesn't have enough lounges surrounding it and has no toilet or bbq nearby. My kids were begging to go back to the Cayman. We won't be back.

Room Tip: Don't have a room overlooking the pool you will have constant noise and out of control children...
