Great friendly staff, awesome location. We were able to walk into town & straight across the road from the park & beach. Fantastic pool & great size rooms for us families. A special mention to Jeremy GM who always made us feel welcomed even with a 2 yr old! Hope u enjoy as much as us!

My wife & I chose this property after staying at a few other Peppers properties. My expectation was of a premium resort.
Upon arrival I first noticed the 'U' shaped layout of the building. This was really noticed later when in the room. Practically every room opposite looks straight into yours, leaving very limited privacy.
The balcony spa has zero privacy, so do not spend extra for this if you're looking for a 'romantic' night time experience - you simply will not get tp use it.
Overall, the property is well kept (although the chairs on our balcony needed replacing some months ago). The staff are wonderful & a delight to engage with - they're very happy to help out with local info.
There is one MAJOR thing to consider with this property - there are a LOT of families with very small kids. This impacts your experience in a number of ways. Firstly, you can forget a relaxing nap around the pool as the kids will be enjoying their fairly loud playing all day long. There were also a number of very small babies throughout the resort who naturally make noise at all hours. All I wanted to do was sleep in on my holiday, but the kids love the pool from as early as 7am & the building catches all noise.
It is a nice property & well located. Just not that suitable for a couple wanting a really relaxing few days.

Wow what a pleasant surprise! We arrived here after two nights at Sea Temple and were pleasantly surprised. With our room ready early and a very welcoming greeting by Mari, the best was yet to come with the fabulous room and pool area. A little reminder of greece perhaps we love it here and will be back. Great value for money

Hi Jimmychooka,

Just a quick note to say thank you for the great feedback. We are very lucky to have Myra working for us and our lagoon pool is quite the favourite.

Just had quick look at your other reviews of Port Douglas - Zinc is a great alternative to Sublime Bar and Grill and is located so close to the resort.

Thank you again for taking the time to post on Trip Advisor and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Please make sure that you contact us direct at portdouglas@peppers.com.au on your next visit so that we can make sure we look after you.

Kind regards,

My partner and I stayed here and thought the huge room and decor was great, balcony had a beautiful view over the pool and had a BBQ which was good if you wanted a night in. The room was clean however the hallways were scratched and a bit tired looking, obviously really well used by families etc just needs a new paint job. The staff are lovely and were happy to swap our rooms after I broke my leg and couldn't get upstairs. We only ate breakfast once there, just had some toast, they were happy and accommodating. Pool was lovely and very well maintained. Spa was booked out so didn't get in unfortunately. Wasn't blown away for the price. 2 min walk to shops.

Hi AliceS,

Thank you for taking the time to post regarding your recent stay with us.

Great feedback regarding our internal staircase - We noticed this as well and I am delighted to advise that we have just had works approved to repaint all our internal staircases over the coming months.

That is a shame about the Spa - We do recommend that our guests contact us and we can organise a copy of the Spa menu and organise bookings before you arrive.

I do remember meeting you coming back in from the Daintree after your accident and I hope that you are on the mend.

I would love the opportunity to chat to you further on how we could have 'blown you away' - any feedback where we can approve is always welcome. Please feel free to contact me on the details undersigned.

Please ensure that you contact us direct at portdouglas@peppers.com.au so we can look after all of the details and booking for you.

Kind regards,

We arrived in Port Douglas right after a tropical storm so nasty that it closed down many nearby roads. Thus, through no fault of the hotel, our suite seemed dank- once we brought this to their attention, the staff happily upgraded us to a larger one not so affected by the storm.

The concierge arranged a wonderful great barrier reef trip, featuring(starring?) Fluffy the (male) marine biologist, who proudly sported an 80's hairdo(n't?) popularized by bands like Loverboy and REO Speedwagon!

Breakfast was amazing- we discovered local (tropical) fruits (custard apples are to die for!), served in a cafe that felt like the inside of an aquarium!

The suite itself was very comfortable and convenient (incl. a washer/dryer and kitchen!), and was tastefully decorated in a contemporary danish-style, overlooking a beach-like swimming pool complete with white sand and turquoise water!

But the best surprise of all came on the walk back from dinner, when we heard a loud chorus of squawking and looked up to find a parade of rainbow parrots flying wobbily overhead. (If we'd not seen them in Sydney, the "flying foxes" that inhabit the Pepper trees nearby would've seemed almost as cool!)

We stayed at Peppers for a week in August 2013. The hotel is very nice and is very close both to the beach and the main street. It has a lovely pool with sandy beach. I suspect it could be overcrowded in peak season as there are not many lounges for guests' use, but there were no problems at the time we went there. The property seems to be kids friendly (although we didn't travel with the kids). The staff were super friendly and nothing was too much effort for them! We felt very welcomed.
On the down side, the continental breakfast was very average and not up to 5* standard. There wasn't much variety (especially of fruit, what you'd expect in QLD) and fruit juices weren't fresh. The upgrades to cooked options were reasonably priced. Housekeeping wasn't too good too. They never removed empty bottles of shampoo or shower gel (even though we were leaving them on the floor) and when they ran out of both shampoo and shower gel they didn't offer any replacements. This was a let down as we only found out after coming back from the beach. You would expect some sort of solution from local shop from 5* hotel. Anyway we had a very pleasant and relaxing stay and would return to this hotel.

Room Tip: If you book a spa room overlooking the pool, get the upper floor as the ground floor rooms aren'...

Came with parents and the three kids. Had a Three Bedroom Apartment which was fantastic and gave us plenty of space. The point of difference i found was the staff, they were so friendly and helpful and exceeded my expectations. The huge pool was great for the kids and was located close to the beach and also the main street, but was still very quiet. Great Ressort.

I highly recommend and we will definitely be going back again.

Room Tip: All roms seemed to be brilliant, especially to ones with their own plunge pool.
