Brilliant hotel with excellent, constantly smiling staff! The Spa Suite was really nice and had everything you could need for a short getaway. The lagoon pool was great for relaxing and it was a very short walk to the beach and shops/restaurant precinct. It was very quiet during my stay in late January which was really good for peace and quiet! Thanks for a really nice stay - hope to return soon!

My partner and I stayed in a spa suite for 7 nights last week. We managed to get a really good deal at almost 40% off which also included a continental breakfast. The room was fantastic! It was exactly what we expected and then some. The spa bath on the balcony overlooking the pool was just perfect! All staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Upon check in we were comprehensively told where our apartment was, although despite this we still managed to get lost (our own fault really) however one of the staff we found in the carpark was more than helpful in explaining where to go and even walked us there to ensure we got there and didn't get lost again! He also gave us some great advice in relation to keeping the room nice and cool for when we returned after a day out.

Continental breakfast was everything we expected and more. Plenty of options for toast, a nice range of fruit, and pastries. Plus hot dishes were only $10 extra (which were REALLY good!)

They offer happy hour at the bar in the arvo and we used this a couple of times in our stay. The staff were great and on the ball.

It's nice and close to the main street but still far enough away not to get loud at night.

We also treated ourselves to a spa treatment. The girls in there are miracle workers. When they finished I didn't want to leave!

The only issue we had was the hot water was a bit touchy to the point where you would be filling the spa bath with straight hot water and it would come out Luke warm to cold, and the water pressure in the shower can be a little off sometimes too but this is certainly not a deal breaker.

The other issue was that the bathroom door wouldn't close properly, but once again not a deal breaker.

Can be expensive but if you are after something which is truly 5 star and with the most helpful and friendly staff I have ever met, than this is for you!!

Had a great stay and would certainly stay here again. An absolute luxury stay in the beautiful port Douglas!!

My husband and I stayed here for five nights as part of our honeymoon in April. The hotel was in a great location with the beach and town centre very close just a 5 minute walk away. The hotel was lovely the decor stunning and the pool area was very relaxing and beautiful. When we checked in we were a bit disappointed that it was our honeymoon and there was no free upgrades or extras. We found this a bit strange since other hotels we had stayed in the days before in Sydney and Port Douglas had given us upgrades with no hesitation and the hotel was very empty, the larger superior rooms round the pool lay mostly empty our entire trip!

Our room was a spa suite but I was disappointed that it was very small and definitely not what I would describe a 'suite'! The jacuzzi on the balcony was very nice though and we did have a nice pool view. The decor in the room was lovely and it was very clean.

We never ate in the hotel since the choice of food was limited and it was expensive, it was much nicer to walk into town where there is lots of lovely restuarants, lots of variety for every budget. The hotel gave us a great eating out leaflet which listed all the restuarants in the area and their opening times, type of food, if they were BYOB and their price range which was very useful!

It was stinger season so we couldn't go in the sea so it's something to think about if going at that time of year, although they do have an area with nets up to have a small swim.

I was very disappointed that there was no free Internet access. We wanted to send an email home to let our family know how we were getting on and obviously did not bring our laptop on honeymoon! You had to pay for Internet access and it was a minimum time of 1hr! I only wanted to use it for 5 minutes! This was ridiculous for being in 2012! They would have obviously had an unlimited Internet deal for hotel work use and they can't let guests use it too!!

The gym was very small and disappointing also.

We loved Palm Cove and would love to return!! Would possibly stay here again but would probably look at other hotels first.

We paid extra to upgrade to this hotel after reading reviews and it was well worth it.

Staff we helpful and friendly. The rooms were nicely decorated and the hotel pool is the best I have been to.

It's quite a small hotel and doesn't feel crowded in any way, no problems getting a sun lounger or a seat at breakfast.The loungers are on the artificial beach which forms part of the pool. The type of sand has been well thought through has it doesn't really stick and sinks straight to the bottom when disturbed.

Restaurants and bars are only a few mins walk, as is the four mile beach.

We had the full breakfast option which I would recommend. Hot breakfast are all cooked fresh and the quality was excellent. Also had a couple of lunches at the hotel which were again excellent and not too pricey. The restaurant bar overlooks the pool and you can even swim up to get a drink or a snack.

Other than the restaurant and the pool there aren't really any other facilities but we never tend to use them anyway.

Overall probably our favourite hotel stay.
