“Great Holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2013

We stayed here for 5 nights in March. When we arrived it took some time before we were able to check in. Everything else about our stay was great. We ate in the restaurant, Drank by the pool and loved our room.

My family of 2 adults & 1 child travelled to this hotel over xmas 2012.
Our 2 bedroom villa was very spacious and very well equipped with a great sized kitchen complete with everything we needed, a great sized laundry also complete with everything we needed including washing powder and iron and 2 bathrooms with showers conveniently located upstairs AND downstairs.
The bedrooms were spacious too with the master bedroom having a queen bed and mirrored wardrobes and large balcony outside.
The 2nd bedroom had 2 single beds and mirrored wardrobes also.
The living area had a flat screen tv on the wall, a dvd player and an Ipod dock.

The pool area was beautifully maintained and the kids just loved the cave/waterfall feature.

The reastaurant for daily buffet breakfast was very satisfactory and the staff were friendly and helpful :)

Will definitely be taking a return trip here again one day !!!

Room Tip: Try to ask for a room away from the main entrance as courtesy buses do tend to rush in too fast for...

We stayed in a 2 bdrm apartment (no 72), it was modern and fantastic, we had awesome pool access and easy access over the pool bridge to the restaurant. After reading on here I was concerned and it was so cheap, but I know March isn't the best time to travel up there but was pleasantly surprised, yes its not the Sherarton and after driving down Port Douglas Road and looking at the resorts and then seeing this one I was extremely concerned from the outside, but we aren't fancy people for that anyway, the room was great for us, 2 bathrooms, good size rooms, lounge was a bit squishy for a family at night but we weren't there to sit around the TV, the pool is fantastic with an awesome spa cave. Definately ask for a room near the pool, I took someones advice on here and did so, they didn't guarantee it but we got it so was very happy, aircons worked great and we had them on 24/7 while we were there. Restuarant was ok, we had a lunch and dinner there, nothing to rave about but ok for convenience, we had Breakfast included and that was great and easy, poolside cocktails for happy hour each day was awesome. We weren't going to hire a car and rely on the the shuttle bus, but glad we had our own car, it is a fair way out. For the price and having a kitchen & laundry we were very happy, would stay there again if ever went back to Port Douglas.

Room Tip: Room 72 had pretty much direct pool access, kids bedroom & lounge room had an awesome pool view...

We stayed in a 2 bedroom appartment which was quite large, it is supposed to be cleaned mid stay but we had to request this action. lots of insects aboutincluding small ant like mies in the kitchen so could not leave food out or packets open. 2 buses operate to take you into Port Douglas for a fee. February is the summer season here and not a lot of tourists so some tourist packages only operate once a day and a lot of the bars and restaurants were closed for holidays or restoration. trip to Barrier Reef was disappointing as it is obviously set up as the one area for tourists and appeared to be spoilt due to this fact (coral not very colourful and not a lot of fish).

2 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2013

Arrived very happy and excited with our friends who were visiting us from overseas. Was greeted after waiting for the receptionist who was busy on the phone for what seemed liked ages. Not even eye contact! Was given keys and map. We were thirlsty and hungry but dinning room shut on 2 nights in wet season. Made our way to our Premium Villa which on the map was the furthest point away from the complex facilities. When opened door was hit with a strong damp smell. Went upstairs and one bedroom had a wet towel on floor, damp dirty bedding and very wet floor. Window in the room was open and noticed no fly screens in any of the rooms. Shower door strip broken and sticking out making hard for door to open and shut. Called reception and a maintenace man came and quickly moved us to another Premium Apartment which was 10 x better in every way! Did ask if we had been put in a different grade of apartment and was told no they were both the same!!. Apartment was very nice but the outside area was filfty and didn't use it at all!!. The pool and grounds outside the premium villas was un maintained and had emergency repairs going on so the look was destroyed by a untreated ply board deck, unmaintained table and chairs and the area had not been even swept for what looked like ages!! The other lagoon pools however were the best I have seen BUT too far away. We decided to use the restaurant which looked lovely and the whole reception and pool area looked so inviting!!. BUT WHAT A SHAME!! the staff weren't!! Was ingnored by receptionist, bar person was no where to be seen!! Was told we could not eat outside and when did sit at a table was told we could not order drinks at bar either where my husband and friend wanted to have a drink before our meal, friends were sitting outside and was allowed!! We had looked at menu outside with our friends who had already ordered and eaten their starter while waiting for us. We then were told we had to use a different menu as eating inside. We still hadn't had a drink so we decided that didn't want to stay as clearly not welcome!! I felt restaurant was not busy enough and they wanted to shut!!. The young lady who was serving was clearly unhappy, didn't smile once and her attitude was disgraceful!! I made an appointment to see Manager the next day and from the first glimpse of him also found him a very unhappy and unproffesional. I explained how I felt about the whole stay and his explaination was that the Premium Villas are privately owned and are fitted out differently, they are the furthest away and maintenance of the grounds and villas is very hard this time of year and staff are limited. We was offered a voucher to use by the pool the next day so that we could experience the restaurant, bar and pool. The morning staff were clearly better!! Was greeted by a lovely receptionist and waitress was brilliant - however food was not good!! We did have a great day, the lagoon pools are lovely and it was such a shame that we experienced such bad service by one member of staff in particular. That night we went into bar again for a drink before we went out for evening - the same member of staff was just as bad!! No eye contact just a face that looked miserable and clearly not the job for her. I didn't see her smile with any customers on the two occasions that we were there. I just felt that the place was very nice and if we had not been to far away from the main area and the staff had been more happier we would have had a great time and would be returning but unfortunately not going to take the risk!!

Room Tip: If you choose to stay here DO NOT use Premium Villas!! - Avoid miserable looking waitress!! Take own...

We stayed in one of their 2 bedroom villas and we were pleasantly surprised as it was so affordable compared to the other resorts in Port Douglas. The apartment was great and so close to the pool. The kitchen and the bathrooms were quite modern. We loved the swimming pools!! Our 2 kids loved the pools and the playground. The proximity of the BBQ area and the kids playground was just perfect. The gym and the pool complex was excellent. We would definitely come back and stay here again.

Room Tip: If you have kids make sure you ask for an apartment near the pool and playground.

As we arrived to the resort we were warmly greeted with a smile and a very helpful attitude by all members of the Rendezvous, especially Annie and Porscha. The facilities are brilliant for all ages and aquire to anyones needs, which include various swimming pools to suit your needs, a gym and tennis courts. I was very pleased with the remarkable services i received from annie as she was very informative on all aspects of port douglas and even recommended a trip to the great barrier reef ( she also was able to let us watch the football at an ungodly hour which was much appreciated). overall i would not hesitate to come back and would recommend this resort to anyone of my friends or family
