“August 2013”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

They left us alone which was great. It was clean and private. The bed was big and comfortable. The unit was a good size with big bathroom and good room for dining and relaxing. The outdoor bath was great and privacy good. We would go back.

Pink Flamingo was honestly better than I expected with some nice little touches adding that wonderful element of surprise upon arrival...and amazing hosts in Gigi and Andrea.
After one day it felt like my second home through use of the fully decked out kitchen and entertaining friends at the communal BBQ set against the beautifully lit and well maintained pool. Access to free DVDs for a quiet night in or the library of donated books to keep me occupied as I lay on the beach or lounge by the pool was one of the many added bonuses...not to mention free access to herbs in the gorgeous and incredibly well maintained garden! Couldn't have asked for more and look forward to staying in my second home next year!

Pink Flamingo was perfect for us - from it's individual, colourful, self-contained bungalow style accommodation with separate topical garden courtyard (hello hammock), to it's gorgeous gardens and heated pool, with groovy disco bar. One small downside was being able to hear our neighbours when we were in bed. Closing the side louvres helped to some extent.

The small but adequate gym (with yoga mats, thank you!) ensured we gym junkies could still get our fix every day, and the hire bikes were the perfect way to zoom from 4 Mile Seafood (fish n chips of course) to Anzac Park to watch the sunset.

We loved that Pink Flamingo supplied beach towels, sarongs and shampoo, less to pack. Would have appreciated a good chopping board and knife, but all other utensils, etc were good. Free use of laundry and wi-fi was a nice bonus.

The location was good for us because we love walking. It's very close to 4 mile beach, which we walked at least once a day. The 15 min walk to the main street / marina was also fine by us as we explored all the streets.

Gigi and Andrea were perfect hosts (friendly and full of insider knowledge!) who never seem to stop working. The whole place was exceptionally clean and well maintained. We shall return!

Room Tip: Perhaps rooms that don't have bedheads all in a row might be quieter - this was only a mild issu...

Fantastic location, beautiful peaceful space, very private and romantic. All the small things have been thought of. Gigi and Andrea are superb hosts who kindly popped a bottle of champers in our fridge when they found out it was my birthday! I would be back in a second and recommend this wonderful place to everyone!

I love having an outdoor bath when on a romantic trip. Pink Flamingo was a really nice place. Stayed here over Easter 2013 and found the price to be exceptional good value. Not right in the action but a short stroll to it. Rooms were great with a kitchen area, great shower, and living room part with TV. outsode was a hammock, some tables (its QLD afterall) and a bath. Only downfall was no wireless internet although wired internet was provided at the front reception area. The grounds and garden are great and the pool was good too. Ill come back here if in Port Douglas again.

We had 3 nights here recently; my partnered had just joined me from London and was suffering jet lag so this was the ideal place to re-adjust internal clocks! The pool was great and we enjoyed ice cold beer sitting round it. The water was a perfect temperature too. The villa was superb and had everything that we needed: the outdoor shower and bath were lovely after a meal on Macrossan Street, you could lay back and see the stars in a lovely hot bath, bliss! A complete bonus was the ability to do your laundry for free, a welcome change to paying for every item especially when I pack light so need to do regular washes, excellent. 4-mile beach is a short walk away and was beautiful: obviously 4 miles of sandy beach, lovely azure sea on one side and tall coconut palms on the other. It was magical walking on the beach at sunrise, another bonus of jet-lag!?
There are plenty of places to eat in Port Douglas we had good meals at Finz, Zinc and PD Yacht Club; the Sunday market was good, all the usual stuff plus Australian Vanilla Growers and cane sugar juice extraction with a bicycle driven mechanism. Also discovered a "new fruit" Sapote, the dried version tasted like sponge cake but was black!
So, the Pink Flamingo: a great setting, well maintained and completely tranquil setting: highly recommended!

Room Tip: No restaurant so you have to rely on local cafes or ones in the Macrossan St area.

Stayed here for 6 nights recently, absolutely loved it. Gi Gi & Andrea were so hospitable, great spot close enough to walk in to Pt Douglas & far enough away to have some solitude. The villas are fantastic have everything you need & the outdoor shower is bliss. The pool area is beautiful, great BBQ & well stocked bar, even a guest laundry. We will definitely return soon.
