“Beautiful long beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Beautiful palm/coconut trees all along the beach give it a fantastic cosmetic look & the beach is clean. Great for going for a walk/run/ walking the dog on a sunny day. Went for sunrise (which didn't actually rise due to heavy clouds that day) but great none the less :) Take your mosquito repellant!

“Eclipse 2012 - Beautiful Beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

Four Mile Beach is wide and has a very small angle into the sea which is great for younger children. With all Qld beaches one must research the time of year to avoid 'stingers' and obey swimming between the flags to avoid rips. We found just walking along the beach exhilarating despite the weather (see photoes). The next day we sat on the beach from 4am. The sand was clean, soft and we were not bitten by anything despite sitting at the tree line in the early morning. We viewed the Solar Eclipse...A once in a lifetime experience.

“Seaweed, sand flies and jellyfish”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

Visually beautiful. Unfortunately the firm sand, vast seaweed and irritating sand flies make this difficult to enjoy. No access to the water at this time of year due to jelly fish

“Just another of the gems of the region.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2013

I see all the reviews talking about not being able to swim, it's true, during the wet season there are Stingers/Jellyfish, and all year round there is the *chance* of Crocodiles. But if you come to Far North Queensland without knowing that, then you haven't done much research. It's just a part of life up here, the beaches are largely un-swim-able. Then again, you've got the Great Barrier Reef!

Once you have this in mind, this beach is outstanding! The epic slow curve of this insanely long, gorgeous beach. The astonishing backdrop of the Great Dividing Range & Daintree Rainforest. The changing colours of the water (yes it is brown sometimes). The never-ending sunsets - seemingly perfect every time I visit.

Four Mile Beach is just one of the many attractions the draw you to the region, don't come here for just one! The Great Barrier Reef, many inland waterfalls & waterholes, the tablelands and it's tasty produce, the World Heritage rainforest and it's unique animals, Mission Beach, Mossman Gorge, Cape Tribulation, Cooktown, Cape York... And that's just the big names, there are plenty of awesome secrets, but they're not to be advertised, the secrets are for those who do the research, ask the locals & just explore!

Have fun!
