This was our first visit to Australia and having stayed at several excellent Mantra hotels we decided on a trip to Port Douglas and booked through a travel agent. The room was pitifully small - indeed the double bed virtually filled the room and was onlyaccessible from one side!! There was a very noisy air condition unit outside and a tiny TV. This was a complete contrast to the other Mantras which were extremely comfortable, many times the size, spacious and for which the same price was paid!!. if I have paid a fifth of the price, it was 11pm and I was absolutely desperate for a roof over my head for 1 night I would stay there. The views from the rooms were overlooking the backs of shops an avery noisy pub. This was an utter disgrace and I have already written and received a reply from Mantra who tried to convince me that it was OK. I implore you - DO NOT stay there!!
