We stayed at Radisson Treetop Resort at the begining of October 2004 for 7 nights and enjoyed it very much. The staff were friendly and helpful. The advice we had from the Tour desk was exceptional. The rooms we found to be of a high standard. The pool side restaurant had a good range of breakfast menus and prices. We ate in Port Douglas in the evening as there was a great range of restaurants giving good value for money. The excellent 4 mile beach was just a short walk away. The resident pianist added enjoyment to a quiet drink in the cocktail bar. A good place to chill out when touring of Australia.

Mostly everything about this resort was nice, e.g., the room, the pool and its surrounds, the breakfast buffet (although a bit expensive), the personnel, and the decor. What was was very nice was that there were buses that cost AUD $2.50/person each way that ran every 15 minutes that took you into the downtown area. The only area that was disappointing was the formal restaurant, whose food was bland and overpriced. Wherever we ate we found a survey card to fill out, which we did, but to this day we have not received any feedback or follow-up. We might stay here again if our first choice the Sebel was unavailable.

After 1 night at an adjacent hotel, Reef Rydges, we switched to the Treetops. The newly refurbished, large room was VERY comfortable & nicely decorated. The dining room, set among the trees, literally, overlooking the pool, was lovely. The bed, also, was very comfortable. I highly recommend it, if staying in Port Douglas.

If you are looking for something a little different with the outdoors feeling this is the hotel. Both restaurants, bars and hotel lobby are all open air giving the tropical feel. Food was good and the room was excellent very big, good facilities with high level of cleanliness. Give this resort a try it is definately not your typical city centre style place
