“Expansive, great for Origin night”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

Went here twice during our stay and the first was origin night. Loved how the this big pub with big screens could be viewed while sitting at bar/stools street side. Nice on that balmy evening. Much of it it is what you would expect in a large reno'd pub. The second time we oredred special fish and chips of the day ($12.50 ) and kids meals good value. My son also had a slow cooked pork meal he loved

“Only good for drinks”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

Came here for dinner on a Thursday night. Was packed and we were told it would be a 45 minute wait for food. That was fine. However, it was only after 1 hr and 45 minutes that we finally received the parma and ravioli we had asked for. The table of 4 next to us who had arrived almost an hour after us ended up getting their meals at their same time. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen.

The pasta was cold and pretty bland, and the salad that accompanied my parma was mainly a whole red onion. I'm aware you shouldn't expect too much from a pub meal, but the Court House Hotel down the road makes a fab parma and took about 1/4 of the time to bring it out despite being just as busy. Furthermore the staff at the Court House actually seem to enjoy their job. We weren't given any apology despite complaining to the manager on duty.

It's a fine vantage point for a drink or to watch some sports, or enter the trivia night. Just don't bother with waiting around so long for a poor quality meal.

“A good pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

Your average pub grub - exactly what you would expect, it delivers. Nice location and the quiz night was fun, but a little drawn out.

“Busy interesting place to eat and drink”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

We had a nice simple and tasty meal here, Caesar salad and a prawn and scollops BBQ salad very tasty. It's a busy place but lots of seating on benches outside along the road. There are bands playing most weekends too

“Give it a miss”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013 via mobile

Service very very slow, food overpriced and of a poor standard. The local fish over grilled, very dry, the fettucini bolognaise not edable (by a teenage boy who eats anything). Got the sense this hotel could not cope well with the holiday traffic. There are many other options avail. In town would suggest avoiding this 'pub' not a great representation of 'good pub grub' for visitors.
