“Quaint local arts and crafts - Nth Qld food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2013

Brought some Japanese friends here, we all loved it. They tried coconut milk from the coconut, mango ice-cream (not mango season so no fresh ones around), freshly made lemonade, sugar cane juice, locally made chocolate plus a myriad of tropical fruits. Loads of clothes and the kids toys are a novelty and a great gift idea.

Loved the hand painted cards, cups etc plus the metal work like geckos and such. Quite funky and quaint and such variety here - something for everyone. My personal favourites are the handmade soaps.

All in all very enjoyable way to spend an hour or two and what a fantastic view too!!

These markets are outdoors with very little cover, make sure you are well covered with shirts, hats, sunscreen and sunglasses. We went in August and still very hot then!!

“Coconut drinks, pearls and ice cream!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

We all found something we loved here... The kids had henna tattoos, I got some lovely pearls and we all loved the coconut drinks which in turn became desserts! Get here early, it gets very busy. Have a break an denjoy views at the back of the markets with kids playground and one of the best views around.

“Great Variety”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

Parking is a nightmare so best to walk if your accommodation is close. A great mx of touristy stuff, fresh food, arts and crafts. Very busy with lots of stalls so make sure you leave plenty of time to browse. Loved the fresh pineapples at $2.50 each. Yum.

“Certainly worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013 via mobile

A great market selling remarkably good quality clothing, jewellery and fresh produce. The dried mango was very tasty and soft - an absolute must try. Also try the fresh tomatoes. Can be difficult finding parking closeby if driving.

“Well worth a look and very popular.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

It was worth dropping in on the Sunday markets when we arrived in Port Douglas.
There were lots of stalls with a variety of market style wares. Some of it was really market junk but some was really good. My son (aged 9) enjoyed it as he got to juice his own sugar cane into a drink. There was certainly a novelty aspect.
In general the prices were a little high and much higher by comparison to the Cairns Night Markets we visited a cople of days earlier.
An interesting hour and good fun anyway.
