“Yumm!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2014

great food, reasonably priced... and yes, million dollar view!! we were there for lunch (yumm squid with salad and fish n chips n salad). Awwww the view!!! and for dinner on a Friday night. It was a bit noisy because everyone else was there too (no secret anymore), but I had the tropical salad with local prawns, to die for! Highly recommend it. Prefer this to some of the rip-off restaurants in town who charge $30 for a boring plate of spaghetti plus $9 for an even more boring bowl of green salad without dressing!

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2014

We had looked at the Tripadvisor reviews and friends had suggested we eat here. Unfortunately we initially sat at a table beside a pole and had to move to avoid earwigs falling on us - not a problem to do. The staff member taking the meal orders didn't check which steak my partner wanted and sold the more expensive option. Neither of our meals had a pleasant flavour.

“Best salt and pepper calamari ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

We ordered the salt and pepper calamari! Was seriously the best we've ever had. So tender and tasty! Best location overlooking the marina and great value too!

“Cheap eat”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2014

Ok food. Cheap eat and ok value. Great location sitting watching the boats come and go. Go around 4.30pm to enjoy a drink while watching the sun set and the boats return to the marina.

“Best view in Port Douglas?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 25, 2014

The Tin Shed (aka Combined Club Restaurant with a separate listing here in Trip Advisor) is a definite must do for at least a drink while in Port Douglas. Sitting on the deck looking out across the main inlet to the bush clad hills beyond at any time of the day is worthwhile, but the real magic here happens at sun down. Get in early to secure a deck edge table, take a big hat because it is as hot as Hades, then sit with your tipple of choice and just simply take in the golden, orange, red sunset lowering down across that very same view. Don't forget your camera. Still water broken by the ripples of jumping fish, moored yachts, waterside mangroves and the occasional evening fishing boat heading out. Magnificent.

Oh - the food? Okay - well this is pretty standard club fare, good prices and generous serves for a pretty standard menu. The meals are fine - nothing special quality wise - but good value dining. The beer is a good price. But make no mistake - the ambience is very special. You will not regret coming here - have a drink - eat - and look at that view. This is outside dining at its best!
