“Amazing views, yummy food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

Located on the water's edge with stunning afternoon views across the bay towards mountains and ocean this is a great option for families and groups. Dining out on the deck, this popular eatery fills up fast in the early evening and is Loud! But that is good when you have kids in tow I guess! Prices are very reasonable and serves are large. Hubby and I shared a salt and pepper calamari entree - it was substantial enough to be a main for one person. Came with nice shredded salad with tasty dressing. The calamari was delish although not very spicy. I had the beer battered wild barramundi with chips and salad for main and it was fresh and crispy in all the right places. Hubby had barramundi in a coconut satay sauce and it smelled very tasty from where I was sitting. Kids had fish and chips and pasta, plus large sticks of garlic bread. We left with full happy tummies. Only negative was it was a bit slow ordering. You have to line up to order food, then line up to order drinks. It was very busy so took quite a while for hubby to come back - so I felt compelled to make my one drink last rather than send him back into the fray again. I should also mention comfy high chairs were available for a little bub. Service was friendly although hurried. Menu had a selection of seafood, meat, and pastas to choose from. It was about $90 for our 2 entrees, and 4 mains which included two kids meals.

“Great for families/casual meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2012

Had our first meal of the holiday here. The pub is pretty big, but lots of fans etc to keep you cool. The menu is pretty good for a pub - we had pizzas and burgers which were priced well ($17 for BIG burger, chips and salad) and were all really good. They had a good cocktail selection too!

“Delicious fish and chips”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012 via mobile

Vistited Tin Shed last night. It has a great relaxed atmosphere, beautiful view and delicious reasonable food. We both had the fish and chips and it was some of the best battered fish I've tasted. We got there quite early (5:30ish) and didn't have any problems getting a tale, but it filled up very quickly. Think it was busiest around 6/630ish.

“Great value for money and very friendly”

The menu was varied and scrumptious. The service was friendly and fast always with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. Plus you can feed the fish from your table!

“Great food, great price and great views!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2012

This was an awesome spot to eat and drink, especially as the sun went down! Good choice of foods and, for Port Douglas, very reasonably priced. (Possibly subsidised or something, as this place is a returned Services bar? Similar prices to the Surf Club, so maybe just not trying to maximise profits, like the other restaurants?) We visited twice!
