“2 Fish”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2014

Five of us dined at 2 Fish on August 6 th and all enjoyed a superb meal. The entrees could not be faulted and the mains the same. The creme brûlée probably the best ever. Will go again. The staff were super efficient at all times.

“adding of gratitude [tip] to bill”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

we dined here on the 2nd of august ,our meals were excellent and the service was attentive however this is not my gripe ,on arrival of our bill I noticed a charge of $53 for gratitude [ tip ], I do not mind tipping for good service but I will decide how much I tip ,on a bill of $153 I consider a tip of 30% a bit over the top .I confronted who I assumed was the manager and was informed that you are now required to pin when you use a credit card that the bank? automatically adds the tip to the bill ,I am sure that this restaurant is not the only one who practices this and this post is only a warning to everyone to be aware of the practice . [no I did not leave a tip]

All customers should note that Australian laws have changed in regard to the use of credit card PINs. Our bank has upgraded its software on our EftPOS machine to include a 'Tipping Screen' before the PIN screen to comply to the new laws. Simply this customer entered his PIN on the Tipping Screen. The tip was not automatically entered by either the bank or the restaurant. The customer's error was noticed & quickly pointed out by the Manager and the tip amount cleared before the transaction was finalized. We suggest all customers paying with a credit card should check what screen is displayed on the EftPOS machine before entering their PIN. The EftPOS machine clearing indicates which screen it is displaying at all times .

“Big Disappointment. ”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2014

We sat down at 9pm for dinner and thought we would try a Tappa style meal. Malaysian butter prawns = beautiful but only 2 per serve is to expensive. Crocodile sausages = were dry and tasteless only 2 per serve is to expensive. Barramundi spring rolls = tasteless and 1 per serve cut in half per serve is to expensive. Pork belly = Delicious but again too small to share.
To top this experience off we were asked to speed things up if we wish additional food to allow kitchen staff to finish.
I believe the management should not allow people to sit if the amount of customers Dose make it viable and need to fast track our meal.
In summary the food is not that good and too expensive.
Ps. I do agree the the vanilla bean creme brûlée was excellent.

“Good food slow service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2014

On holiday and staying in the resort where the restaurant is, we decided to try 2 Fish. We waited for about 5 minutes before staff finally acknowledged us, and took us to a table. Restaurant wasn't full by any means, but all staff seemed very busy. We had to ask twice for water before it was delivered. We had Barramundi which was beautiful but a little on the expensive side. In all a pleasant meal, but with other good restaurants on port Douglas, probably wouldn't go again

“A pleasant dining experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

A classy dining experience good food great service good value for the whole experience.
Not the place to go for a "cheap big feed".
The size of the meals is quite adequate, the price in keeping with the quality and venue.
Staff fantastic!
