“Under-rated”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2013 via mobile

There are other more reviewed places on trip advisor at Port Douglas that fall short. I think 2 Fish is significantly under-rated.

I loved the Moreton Bay Bugs with Penang sauce. (For those in horror ... it's an Australian crustacean - think a small lobster or large prawn with a broad, flat head). Truly wonderful!!

“The bonus round”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2013

Had a great evening. The staff was attentive & friendly, the unknown McPherson chardonnay very good and the food excellent ... especially the Morton Bay Bugs! A definite do-over!

“Something was missing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2013

Good fish does not need fassing . My barramundi cooked simple European style, suggested by our waiter, was excellent. Crab cakes were dissapointing. There was so much potatoes that crab was hard to find. We were told that it was chef's special recipes. To be fair , the item was taken off our bill? Service was good, but the place was practically empty and completely lucking atmosphere

“Great Food Average Service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

Although there were spare tables about it felt like the place was understaffed on a Friday night. Our waitress was just not upto speed and the manager had to assist throughout the evening. The meal itself was first class with a 1.5kg Chilli Mud Crab the highlight. The sauce was not overpowering and we enjoyed the accompanying from a good list to choose from. If they get the right staff and retain their chef and good quality produce it could be a great restaurant. We will certainly give it another chance next time we are in PD.

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

Crispy fried whitebait with aioli - Whitebait not fresh, served with mayonnaise.
Marinated olives -poor quality olives, very nice marinade.

Steamed Mud crab with sir fried beans and steamed bok choy - Mud crab good though it arrived with steamed beans and parmesan and no bok choy, dipping sauces destroyed the flavour of the crab.
Moreton bay bugs with penang curry sauce - Ok

Service was good and meals arrived promptly, could have just been an off night in the kitchen but for the money I would go next door to Harrisons.
