“EXCEPTIONNAL stay at the Harbour Lights”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2011

200 AUD mid september in a one unit bedroom facing the harbour, this is one of the nicest stay during our trip down under. In the same building, are sharing a hotel and a serviced appartments on different floors with separate lifts. The hotel is handling their own customers and has a vast reception on ground floor. The serviced appartments runs our reservation and anytime you need something, you must not ask the reception, but go back to the travel agency in charge of your stay. So this is like renting a flat, with almost no other kind of service than get the key, daily room service, and drop the key. Some common areas, like the foyer, the fitness and the pool, are shared to all customers, but managements are totally distinct.

We love :
-Super design and fully equipped (E-VE-RY-THING, just like home) from kitchen to laundry, and dish washer…
-Super view over the harbour
-Very good location, next to the Reef Terminal, with restaurants, shops and convenient stores

This happened to us :
No internet network, either wire or wireless. But who cares

Tips :
Catch a cab from the airport as it is roughly the same price you pay if you are 2 and hop on an airport bus. With the confirmation email ask the driver to drop you at the reef info center, which is a travel agency and nothing to do with any kind of an official reef information center, that is the reception. Yes, that’s weird. But you « check in » there and will be shown the way to the Harbour Lights, a 200 m away to the harbour front.

Stayed in the Harbour Lights for a long weekend. We paid for a harbour view room which was worth it - the views from the balcony were wonderful. The hotel is very close to the reef terminal so very convenient for the early morning start for a day on the reef.

The hotel itself felt a little industrial - lots of concrete and grey carpets, but the room was comfortable and a decent size. Staff were friendly and helpful and car parking was convenient.

Walking distance to the Esplanade and plenty of restaurants

Stayed in the penthouse - 2 Adults, 2 Children (Ages 9 & 7) so what more is there to say? Loved it, kids loved the rooftop spa - would've been nice to have done greenery up there though. Can't wait to go back! We won't stay anywhere see....

I have stayed here twice, and both times I had a 1 bedroom apartment. It was very comfortable and is situated right next to the pier , where all the boats leave to go out to the barrier reef. The staff were helpful and is located with restaurants all around the hotel. Will stay again and have no hesitations in recommending this hotel

This place is really nice... We loved the views, the kitchen with all the appliances, the washine machine and dryer, the small but cosy bathroom, the huge living room... And the price was just perfect!! Will go back here for sure!!

We did not try the restaurant but I heard is really nice... with an amazing view!!

Next to all restaurants and right behind the port where you take the boats for snorkling or diving!!

Modern. Good central location. Front office staff were very helpful , friendly and attempted to get us a higher floor but room had been "locked in". Very comfortable bed but way overpriced. We stayed at the NO ocean view side which was the price of an ocean view as far as we were concerned. We were looking at the roof of the hotel and the sun came through there around 6am to wake up the world! Blinds didnt block out the sun. Kitchen cupboards and doors were very dirty. A one bedroom apartment only gives a bar fridge, full of mini bar stuff. The dining room table was wood and hard as a rock to sit on for more than 5 minutes. The rooftop pool and spa was freezing cold. And dont forget to pay for your parking before you check out on top of the price of your room.
