We had a great experience at The Lakes.
We arrived early (10.30am) and were greeted by name and were told our room was already available for us.
The room was excellent; clean, tidy, quiet. (Ground floor one bedroom).

During our stay we found all the staff to be helpful, the food was good at the Rambutan, pools were lovely, bus service into town was timely and efficient. One of the drivers would also give a commentary on things to know about Cairns if you asked questions.

We were very pleased with The Resort and would happily recommend it to others.

The only negative thing about staying here was that it was just for the one night!

The Lakes Resort & Spa is a lovely place to stay and extremely good value. The room are practically self contained houses which offer all the amenities and facilities that you require.

Everything is spotlessly clean, and the attention to detail across the whole resort is amazing. I stayed in the Dalyrmple block, and within 60 seconds walk was a lovely pool/lagoon. a nice resturant/cafe and a bar which had an exeptionally good value happy hour!

It is under the flight path to Cairns airport, and the noise can be quite loud when a plane comes in, however Cairns is not the busiest airport in the world, so its not much of an inconvenience.

All in all I can highly recommend it, and would love to be lucky enough to go back one day!

This place is beautiful. As if Cairns isn't lovely enough you feel as if you've walked into your own little world at this resort; and you have. Great bang for the buck.

My friend and I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartments with everything anyone could need. A/C, ceiling fans, washer dryer (and detergent) dish washer, full kitchen, tv, spa tub, dual sinks in bathroom etc, etc.

We asked for a top floor away from any of the pools and restaurants. Silence! It was golden. My only regret is that I didn't stay longer. I'll remedy that next time.

The staff was helpful and friendly. It's about 10 minutes by cab from Reef Fleet Terminal (12 minutes tops) and there's a shuttle. (Though we didn't use it)

We ate a Rambutan and the food was pretty good. A bit pricey, though not over priced. However there are tons of places in the city center to eat in all price ranges.

I was visiting Cairns for a short holiday along with 300 of NSW Karate team. At first I did not know what to expect, I had seen all of the pictures and thought it looked wonderful, but I was also weary of not believing everything I was seeing.
When we arrived (the entire plane full) it only took us about 15 mins to get everyone their keys and to their rooms - this is amazing. Myself and the 5 other girls staying in the room navigated our way quite easily to our building. Unfortunately there was no lift to take us up to the top floor so we had to lug our luggage to the top of the stairs one bag at a time, but all being from a karate background made it easy.
When we stepped into the room I could not get my mouth off the floor. We stepped into a large lounge area which was attached to the dinning/kitchen area (all massive) and another lounge room, before splitting off into the main bedroom with ensuite, 2 other bedrooms, a massive bathroom and a laundry.
My 10 day stay at the resort was one of the best experiences of my life. It is not too far from the city center, there are 4 massive pools, a garden/waterfall area and the bars and restaurants are to die for.
The staff were also extremely helpful and knowledgeable and I would like to thank them for such a wonderful stay.
