“A lovely experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2014

My friend and I stayed two weekends either side of a tour to Cape York. Our room was clean, well appointed and roomy. The pool, BBQ area and lounge area and gardens were pleasant surroundings. Breakfast was delicious. Most importantly for us the staff were outstanding. I dealt with Donna when making my booking and other enquiries and she was so lovely and helpful. Handy location to East Coast Car Rental across the road and a short walk to town.
Judy Johns from Sydney

Room Tip: We found ground floor great as there are no lifts

Bottom of door was broken and made very loud bangs every time you opened or closed it. Bathroom light did not work properly. Shower leaked all over the floor. Was charged on credit card then asked to pay again when checking in. No suitable parking for larger cars. Not happy with our stay at all for a family of 2 adults and 2 kids.

We stayed here for 6 nights and it was really good. The room had complete facilities with comfortable ambience. Our package included buffet breakfast which was what we were looking forward to every morning with friendly waitstaff making you feel at home. The lounge area is good as well complete with couches, bbq and dining area, reading materials with a pool across it. Location is good as well since it was just around 5 minutes walk to the esplanade and 15 to the shopping centre. Would recommend this place to our family and friends!

Convenient central accommodation in Cairns. Right outside bus stop. Short walk to the esplanade. Free hotel airport shuttle pickup. Very warm friendly staff make you feel right at home particularly Donna and Ferne (the owner). Reception staff very knowledgeable of local attractions. Basic breakfast to keep one going. Barbeque area adjacent to refreshing pool. Accomodation clean and adequate. Affordable unlimited wifi. Thanks for a lovely stay and base to explore the Great Barrier Reef, rainforest, beaches and surrounds.

We arrived at the Queens without knowing what to expect as others did the booking.
What a great place!. It is exactly what my partner and I would have chosen. Our room was light and airy and modern. The first room we had was self contained, a convenience we would have used if staying longer. I loved the dispensers in the bathroom for shower gel, shampoo, conditioner etc. much more efficient than tiny bottles and tiny soaps.
Our interaction with the ladies at Reception was always a pleasant, friendly interlude, one looked forward to such interactions. Our requests and constant questions dealt with a professional efficiency yet with a relaxed and smiling manner.
The tours recommended by and booked through Reception met all expectations. Those ladies know there stuff.
The walk to town was not short but easily managed and involved a lovely meander along the beach front, a great introduction to Cairns.
The 'Queens Court' is a great choice.
'We Will be Back for Sure'.

Room Tip: A few different room standards available. All are priced accordingly.

Friendly staff but not the best place I've stayed in. Very small rooms for the price and not very close to town. Also it was a shared bathroom which I would expect in a motel. I was only in Cairns for one night so did the job, but wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer! Although they had peanut butter for breakfast so that's always a bonus! Lady got very angry when I plugged my iPhone in to the socket next to the toaster. Very dangerous apparently, haha!

Stayed here for a night, initially I booked a promotion of $80 but when I checked in, I've learned that it's a shared bathroom, so I had to upgrade and paid an addition of $20. The bathroom has a very limited space. The staff at reception were friendly. Also, there was no elevator to the 2nd floor where my room was, I had to drag my heavy luggage all the way up and down which was very inconvenient. Lastly, being a light sleeper, it was a bit difficult for me to get to sleep at early hours of the night with the noise of the passing vehicles. All in all, it was a good place to stay just to sleep for the night as I had to catch my flight at 5:45am.
