“Very Happy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

We were seeking reasonably priced accommodation for overnight in Cairns. A competing hotel we enquired at was full and found a vacancy for us at Cairns Queens Court (all credit to friendliness of Queensland service industry) staff at Queens Court were great. Our rooms (two couples travelling together) were excellent. Clean, tidy, and suitable for our needs. Rooms smallish but ensuite generous sized. Price included breakfast which was well above expectations and again, staff were courteous, clean and friendly. Have experienced other Cairns hotels which were a bit shabby, but this one faultless in presentation, and we will recommend to fellow travellers who want quiet rooms, cleanliness and efficiency.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room where traffic will not annoy you, and you should be happy with your stay

Great value, nice and quiet location. I stayed in a 'superior twin room' which has an ensuite.
Rooms are clean and a good size including fridge, safe, hairdryer, modern flatscreen tv etc.

The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

Place has a small pool and 3 sun loungers just in case you want to stay by the pool for a day but it's not that far from the main central part of Cairns (10 min walk to seafront) and there's a huge public lagoon/lido there which is brilliant (and free)!!

Breakfast served includes toast, cereal, coffee, tea, jams and spread and you have a choice of sitting inside or outside.

Room Tip: All areas of the hotel are quiet at night. Superior and Premium rooms have ensuites.

We we greeted with a nice and quiet place , clean and tidy and peaceful. The hotel is economical and included breakfast and airport pick up. We enjoyed our trip and all our bookings were done from the hotel and all went very well.

all pickups on time and the advise given by the staff was apt and as required by us.

Special thanks to Tara for her assistance which made our stay even more pleasant. !!!! cheers Harry. Recommended for people looking for a good clean peaceful and economical stay.

Room Tip: We chose the superior double room which is a good one for couple and at a very economical stay.

We had booked to stay 3 nights on our way to our son's wedding further up the coast. We also stayed for a further 2 nights on our return before flying home to the UK from Cairns. The rooms were very clean and all the staff very friendly. The location was great being a short walk along the esplanade into the town and bars and restaurants. The bus stop almost outside was a cheap way to explore the northern beaches and the botanical gardens. The staff were extremely helpful with advising and booking excursions for us. The inclusive breakfast was a bonus and also the airport transfers. I would definitely recommend this small good value hotel for a short stay in Cairns.

Room Tip: The fact that there was no lift did not affect us. Our first room was on the second floor at the rea...

When I went diving on the barrier reef I decided to book a cheap hotel that was quiet but close enough to the city to walk to if I wanted to and that is what i got. Flew into cairns early afternoon and caught a mini-bus to the hotel (the hotel doesn't pick you up from the airport) but it does take you there. Was checked into the hotel by the recepionist who couldn't do enough for me she showed me were I could have breakfast and directed me to my room. The pool wasn't very good at first glance but I was told that the paint was coming of and was being painted at the end of the season. It only does breakfast so if you want an evening meal there is an excellent resterant/hotel just down the road-turn right out of the hotel over the first road junction and it's the place with flaming torches outside. If you want a cooked breakfast it has to be ordered the night before and is very good-in fact the whole breakfast is excellent. Air con can be a bit noisy but keeps the rooms nice and cool. They have plenty of trips on offer if you want to do something.
In short it is an excellent place to stay if you want a cheep good quality room for a short time.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the pool-much quieter

My son and I enjoyed our stay immensely. The young lady on the desk was fantastic and arranged all our tours and answered all our questions. She had a really winning way and what an asset to the place. Some of the older ladies not as friendly but did their job. We had a shared bathroom and had no problems, rarely even seeing any one else. We were out most of the time so this sort of accommodation suited us. Very reasonably priced. Breakfasts were adequate and the staff were very friendly. You can order and pay for a cooked breakfast if you want one. We didn't. Parking is available on site which is very handy. Rooms are serviced each day. Leave towels on the floor if you want them changed. We didn't but the desk can fix it for you. There is also a laundry but we didn't use it. I would stay here again. My thanks to the lovely young lady on the desk.

Room Tip: Front rooms get traffic noise.

On our last night in cairns we were catching a late night flight and just needed a back packer type room to store our gear while we wandered cairns and to return to to get ready for our flight. queens court ticked all the boxes for us. it was in walking distance to the main shops and the boulevard, it was clean and fresh, had airconditioning and a small fridge and tea and coffee making facilities. the toilet and shower were right next to our room and were clean and modern. on our first night in cairns we had paid $54 to stay at a different backpackers. but we were not impressed with the disorganisation when we arrived and the room was extremely basic and it all seemed like it desperately needed a makeover. so the queens court was a breath of fresh air in comparison. we were more than happy to pay $80 for a much nicer room and a very organised receptionist who handled our query over the phone and had everything ready for us when we arrived within the hour. our room is advertised as an upmarket backpacker room and that is exactly what it is. we would definitly rebook should we be back in cairns again.

Room Tip: we were directed to stairs to locate our room so had to carry luggage up 2 flights of stairs.
