“Spacious clean apartment in quiet beautiful setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2014

We were very happy with the apartment and the resort and would stay again. Unlike some previous reviewers we found the staff friendly and helpful. We agree you need a car although there are shops about 15-20 minutes walk away. The resort has two pools, very large warmed spa , putting green (with some impossible holes) and a tennis court. The balcony overlooking the pool greenery was very spacious.

Room Tip: The hotel has two large pools. Apartments have a big balcony which either a view of the pool/greener...

We had a three bedroom apartment which was very spacious. We were surprised at how cold it was in the pool -everyone stayed in the large spa .We had a car & didn't find the travelling too much as sometimes we headed south & sometimes north of the resort. We are used to travelling (after all we are Australians) We had a GPS & so had no trouble travelling around. Again we took about 29 minutes to get to the resort from the Airport. The resort is beautifully landscaped.with tropical plants. We arrived about 9pm (after hours) but our instructions of how to pick up the keys worked very well .
. We were a party of 4 adults & three children aged 4, 6 & 8 years old.

Room Tip: We overlooked the pool & spa There are good BBQ facilities.

Very spacious apartment & well stocked. Location about 10 minutes outside of Cairns, you definitely need a car. Nice pool but not heated. Reception hours very limited and staff cold as another reviewer indicated. No elevator but this is a warning given by the hotel prior to booking. I would not stay there again.

You definitely need a car even if it is to just drive to town. Our apartment was on the top floor (3rd) and there was no lift which was a bit of a problem with the luggage and for my elderly mum. Apartment itself is great. very spacious, well equipped. No housekeeping though. plenty of room for 6 of us. floor felt a bit sticky so mopped it ourselves to let us walk around barefoot. about 15 minutes to cairns central. ok with car. pool is cold but there is a heated Jacuzzi which was fun for the kids. nothing much else to do at the resort.

Room Tip: maybe try asking for a lower floor.

The reception staff are very “cold” and not welcoming.

Resort very remote, could not stay there without a car. Nothing nearby.

Supplies (tea/coffee, toiletries etc) a minimal amount for 2 people – our apartment was for 6 people

One tea towel, no pot mitts for the oven.

Kettle not working, hairdryer was missing from the ensuite

No rubbish bins near the units. 5 minutes’ walk one way to the main rubbish collection area. Notes - if you do not put rubbish out you will be charged.

Swimming pool very cold. No one swimming – not even the kids.

Noise transfer between the units is very bad.

Cleaners are very noisy, no consideration for guests.

Gardeners use noisy leaf-blower, whippersnapper early in the morning, not pleasant when trying to enjoy coffee on the balcony.

Very noisy construction/tree loping occurred all day on one of the days during our stay.

The water was turned off for half a day during our stay.

Television set up is confusing. The TV antenna is connected through the Foxtel IQ box and makes it difficult to watch free to air television without being connected to the Foxtel IQ box.

Room Tip: The noise transfer between the rooms is very bad. Perhaps the top floor but be aware there are NO L...

Holiday makers don't realise how much noise travels throughout the complex. I don't think its fair that I have to close my windows to block out the sound of unaccompanied children or children who's parents don't care about other tenants. Tenants who live here permanently have to abide to by-laws to maintain the ambience of the facility and unfortunately those who drift in for a week or so don't care or have to be considerate.

My biggest regret is buying a unit here several years ago. Every morning, I am woken up by the gardeners using their leaf-blower, whippersnipper or chainsaw. Just want I want to hear when I'm pregnant at 6.40am (this is the earliest I've heard it, it's mostly at 7.30am) With the ridiculous amount of money that is paid here in body-corp fees, it's a wonder where the money goes. Must be the fuel for the leaf blowers, because the gardens are really sad and in dire need of being pulled out and replaced, and not to forget the hose that is used in the carwash bay in the first block of units need replacing desperately. I was very happy to see that they pulled up the plants that are in the main garden bed at the entrance last week. It was 5+ years over due. Wonder how long it will take for new plants to go in.

If you like to be constantly woken up by noise, this is the place for you.
