We stayed in a self contained unit on the 5th floor. The unit was spotlessly clean & well appointed, with everything that you would want, including spa bath, DVD & CD players, washing machine – even novels, games & an umbrella. The king-sized bed was very comfortable. There is a swimming pool & gym, plus a gas barbeque with outdoor furniture shaded by large umbrellas.
It was quite pleasant sitting on the balcony & I could access Cairns’ City free Wi-Fi from there whilst taking in the wonderful views over the Esplanade & Trinity Bay. This building is very centrally located, with the Night Markets, numerous restaurants, shops & the Lagoon etc all within a couple of minute’s walk.
Reception is located on the 1st floor & Estee & Meegan were friendly & helpful at all times as was Brian, the on-site manager. Limited off-street parking is accessed via a drive-way on Abbott Street, next to the Night Markets. There is also an entrance at ground level (next to The Coffee Club) on The Esplanade where a Tour Desk is located.
Security is good, with lifts key-accessed at all times; as are the front & back doors after hours.
Being a light sleeper, the only problem I had was with slamming doors & people talking in the lift foyer as the bedroom is close to the front door but this only happened occasionally.
