Hi ALL, Yes I found my room very clean, bedding comfortable, great hot shower...all good. However, I must highlight "Jack" the waiter in the Restaurant - he went above and beyond all expectations - could not do enough for his guests...Thanks "Jack" - you helped make our stay a memorable one. Have since been emailed by Accor stating the hotel is no longer a partner with them (disappointing to hear).

Room Tip: Rooms near the pool can be a bit noisy.

I travel a lot and I ask for the basics. But for starters the tv didn't work properly. They didn't register my credit card through properly so I was made to look stupid when I was not able to do a beer on the account, I had dinner in the restaurant, I ask for the steak with mushroom sauce on the side, I received the steak with peppercorn sauce all over the steak. .steak was poor, vegetables cold. I went to the shop to get a newspaper and bottle of water and credit card had still not been processed, so I said fine just use my credit card and I am told $10 minimum. . Seriously. The End

I've stayed here twice now, arriving late and leaving early, $89 per night includes continental buffet breakfast. I think you can upsize to hot breakfast for another $7 ?

Rooms were clean, good size, quiet location just 5 minute drive from CBD. Might not suit everyone however if you are just after a room it's ideal, 24hr reception

I have stayed here 2011,2012,2013,2014.The staff are really friendly. The resort grounds are huge & so is the main pool/bar area.Hotel rooms are basic but well appointed with lcd tv ,bar fridge etc always very clean,These rooms are at the front of the resort & are 4* rooms that are on wotif & lastminute etc.(Now this is the not advertised information for people who really need short term accommodation for a reasonable price!!!) Their are older style rooms at the back that are a bit dated but usually very clean called (classic rooms) http://www.shorttermaccommodationcairns.com.au/studios/63-classic-room-colonial-club- They are a basic hotel room, usually very clean but just a few years older, they are $210 per week, minimum 1 month. The next rooms are at the side/back of the resort & they are a lot bigger & have a basic kitchen with a divider between the main bedroom, these rooms are $265 a week minimum 1 month.http://www.shorttermaccommodationcairns.com.au/resort-style-rooms/15-studio-cairns-colonial-club-
The Ibis Styles Cairns Colonial Club is 10 minutes north of Cairns City.It is a 25 minute walk through back streets & 10/20 mins on the local buses,The resort has its own shuttle bus that runs on a timetable & does a curcuit of Cairns/DFO shops/Cairns city & return for $2 each way, they also offer a weekly bus pass for around $10pp unlimited per week. There is also ample parking for cars both front & back of the Resort.
