This was my choice for lunch today. I ended up going elsewhere for a drink and afters which I couldn't resist.
The menu does not include drinks. When I asked what drinks were available I got a surly non reply so I ordered water which was virtually thrown at me in what seemed like a fit of pique.
The food when it came was a good portion size for the price I have paid elsewhere for a portion which included a doggy bag sized left over. I chose Irish Salad which was probably too much protiein with an egg and cured salmon and therefore a poor choice. When it came it was well presented the egg was poached and the white was well cooked while the yolk was still runny which is perfect in my book. The salad was tasty well cooked crispy potato as a base with baked Tomato, baby spinach and a beet root dressing. I'm a beet root fan so I liked that. The salmon was a cured slice from one side of the bone and a a small but good size given that it came with egg. Unfortunately an attempt had been made to dear it which left it pink on the iediaye edges lukewarm and raw for the bulk of the serve. I prefer hot smoked salmon but I ate this because I was hungry and because the drinks episode had given me an insight into the emotional climate of the place. In the end the young man who took my plate asked I told him and he returned and politely explained that cured salmon should be served that way. My mood instantly improved at his polite, thoughtful and respectful response. He must have spoken to the chef on my behalf. Thank you to him. I suspect he would be happier working elsewhere
