Jim took myself and four mates out on a sole charter recently. October 15 to be exact. The day was spent like most others, catching live bait then venturing off to try our luck in a few spots. The first spot we went to had action straight away, and to be fair it was only due to angler error and anticipation that more fish weren't landed. We pulled a couple of small GTs to the boat and enjoyed the fact that the only non fisherman on the boat had the first points. Our second spot was hindered by the wind but Jim did his best to persist and try and put us on his mark. We landed a threadfin (King) salmon here and the wind was making it hard work. One of our members caught a bird (No points). Our last spot was also effective with the first barra at 63cm being landed. Also one lost. There we saw a croc on the riverbank and went in for a closer look. A type of rock cod was caught and that saw our day come to an end. Jim worked hard all day in the wind to get us in decent spots, we had a chance to flick a soft plastic and enjoyed our charter. Jim was a good bloke that will no doubt treat you as you treat him. Anyone who has complained about the charter doesn't understand fishing because sometimes it's hot and soemtimes it's not, that's why they call it fishing! He knows his boat and the area well which is what your after in a charter. The only bad thing we can say is that lunch could of benefited from some bread rolls to go with the chicken. Fruit was delicious. Thanks again Jim!
