“Good Food, Slow Non-Attentive Service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2014

As others have stated, things were spotty at this location. We visited for dinner since my son was desiring something more like home for our meal. We passed Outback Jacks several times over a couple day period, and it always seemed to be bustling with a lot of people.

When looking at their menu, we were handed a coupon that provided us free garlic bread. It took approximately 10-15 minutes for a server to stop by our table to take an initial order. They buzzed all around us, and there seemed to be no natural order for which server hit which table, or which order they came to the table.

We ordered everything immediately, since we had time to look over the menu. Our drink orders came up relatively quick, but it took time for water to be served. Our garlic bread showed up about 2 minutes before the main meal, but we didn't' care at this point, we had our food. We ordered a salad and ribs. Both were very good, but the portions weren't huge for the price.

We had another round of drinks, finished our meal, and found it nearly impossible to get our check. We had to go to the register before our server would come up and take our credit card. Upon looking at the bill, she didn't credit us for our free garlic bread (so check your tabs carefully), she gave us a no worries and got a manager to adjust our bill.

I would still tip for good service (when provided) in Australia, even though it is not customary. No tip was left for poor service.

Overall the food was good, but budget time if you are eating here.

“Don't waste your money!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2014

We went to this restaurant out of convenience as it was across the road from our accomodation at the Mantra Trilogy. I decided to order the wagyu beef (Outback Jacks menu description-high marble score for an exceptional flavour. The rolls royce of steaks!) priced at $50, big mistake, could not have been Wagyu more like a piece of leather! The kids had steak & chips and their steak was more tender than mine. Our waitress was lovely however she forgot to mention that the kids had ice cream included in their meal deal. Would not recommend this to anyone as it was overpriced and poor quality food.

“Don't waste your money.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2014 via mobile

If you want to pay a premium for lousy service and lousy food, this is your place! We went early to avoid crowds with a toddler, and while the restaurant was virtually empty the wait staff were less than efficient. My 'medium' steak was charcoaled and the chips are soggy. It seems they are trying to replicate Hogs Breath only more expensive and awful food. Drinks were ridiculously expensive also. I think they are reliant on the tourist factor to get your money and give you crap because they know you won't be back.

“Don't waste your money or time”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014

For a restaurant that wasn't busy, the service was very slow and meals were even slower. We ordered garlic bread which took 45 minutes to arrive, meals arrived another half an hour later. If you want a second drink you basically have to go and find a Waiter to get you one.

The food was well below average especially when you are paying $34 for a piece of steak.

Overall disappointing and being a local, definately wouldn't bother going back. I certainly hope tourists get better service.

“Primerib just so and so”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2014 via mobile

We sat on the sidewalk and it was quite comfortable....service was ok though a liitle slow. We had the primerib which was "seared" to medium...it was ok as well with a tiny baked potato and a bit of salad and coleslaw.
