As others have stated, things were spotty at this location. We visited for dinner since my son was desiring something more like home for our meal. We passed Outback Jacks several times over a couple day period, and it always seemed to be bustling with a lot of people.
When looking at their menu, we were handed a coupon that provided us free garlic bread. It took approximately 10-15 minutes for a server to stop by our table to take an initial order. They buzzed all around us, and there seemed to be no natural order for which server hit which table, or which order they came to the table.
We ordered everything immediately, since we had time to look over the menu. Our drink orders came up relatively quick, but it took time for water to be served. Our garlic bread showed up about 2 minutes before the main meal, but we didn't' care at this point, we had our food. We ordered a salad and ribs. Both were very good, but the portions weren't huge for the price.
We had another round of drinks, finished our meal, and found it nearly impossible to get our check. We had to go to the register before our server would come up and take our credit card. Upon looking at the bill, she didn't credit us for our free garlic bread (so check your tabs carefully), she gave us a no worries and got a manager to adjust our bill.
I would still tip for good service (when provided) in Australia, even though it is not customary. No tip was left for poor service.
Overall the food was good, but budget time if you are eating here.
