Owner description: Alongside Cairns is a magnificent tidal estuary that is rarely seen, except by fishermen. Only accessible by boat, M.V. Crocodile Explorer is a comfortable, air-conditioned vessel taking small numbers of visitors along Trinity Inlet on this scenic nature cruise. With waterways winding through a 300 square kilometre maze of mangroves, expect rich diverse wildlife, stunning scenery and a relaxing cruise with informative commentary from our crew. This is the saltwater crocodile’s natural habitat – with a chance to spot them basking on the muddy banks particularly in the cooler months. Cairns Harbour Cruises depart daily at 11.00am and 1.30pm for a 2 hour cruise. We also offer an evening cruise departing at 5.30pm daily.Picture yourself drinking sparkling wine while watching the tropical sunset from Trinity Inlet. A sunset cruise aboard the MV Crocodile Explorer sets the tone for an unforgettable evening. As our friendly crew greet you on board you will be offered a welcome drink to enjoy on deck prior to departure. The Sunset Cruise allows passengers to soak in beautiful views of the waterways, mangroves and mountains in the magical early evening sun. The 90 minute cruise includes a sparkling wine, standard beer, wine or soft drink and savoury nibbles on arrival.

“Enjoy the Tropic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013

Taking the harbour cruise gives the traveller a quick realisation of how closely inter laced are the built environment of the Cairns area with the natural environment of the tropics. Take the sun cream, water and the camera.

“Worth Doing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 8, 2013

Locals and visitors to Cairns should not miss the opportunity to do this excellent Cairns Harbour Cruise. Most interesting to hear about the different types of Mangroves and to enjoy the views of Cairns from the water. The crew are very helpful and give a great commentary. You will see Crocodiles at certain times of the year. Tea, coffee, cakes and fruit was very much appreciated.

“a splendid way to spend a couple of hours”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

This was better than we expected, probably because there were not many aboard (a group of 8 failed to turn up apparantly), the weather was perfect, it was not expensive and we hadn't expected the additions such as free tea, coffee, cakes, fruit etc (and as 8 hadn't turned up there was plenty for those that had!). Unfortunately we didn't spot any crocodiles, but for a restful and enjoyable boat trip I thought it well worth it.

“Crocodile is on the Way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013 via mobile

Crew members (captain and biologist) are very friendly and informative. Mangrove forest is quiet and beautiful. There are some cakes, coffee and tea. The thing is that we came acrosd a wild croc within Trinity Inlet.
