Cairns city motel is perfectly located. Close to all amenities and the cbd, whilst far enough away to allow for a restful stay. An ideal base and competitively priced and not on a major highway, so many other motels are.Friendly staff, Yasemin is great. I was at the motel for 2 weeks, and it suited me perfectly.I believe the rooms are being upgraded, carpets would benefit from this.Perhaps also if the pool was quieter late at night, perhaps the xmas period was the reason.!.All in all a great stay. Barry V Redmond

Room Tip: i stayed on the top floor furthest away from street , i enjoyed the airy light aspect.

I visit Cairns on a regular basis and always stay here, it is walking distance from city centre, there is on site car parking, the staff are always helpful and friendly.
I don't expect 5star standards for 3star money, so the rooms are always clean, beds also, bathroom/shower could do with a towel rail, air-con works, fridge/kettle and TV all work.
With a little extra maintence from the owners this would be an excellent budget motel.
I will be staying here again and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good location and value for money... Thomas Walsh, Townsville QLD.

Room Tip: I always stay in the ground floor rooms..

When the two of us arrived we were greeted by a cockroach on the floor of our room. There were hairs all over the bathroom- my partner had to clean the toilet before using it. Room smelt discussing, there were holes all in the bedsheets and it was very loud. Didn't seem very professional atall. Coming from working within this proffesion myself I am disgusted.

Be aware that the check-in office is only open 9am-7pm. I was never informed of this- I arrived at 10pm and couldn't get my room. There was only a phone number taped to the window to call & get your key from the lock box. The hotel needs to understand that many guests are foreigners whose phones don't work in Australia- what are we supposed to do? I wandered around the hotel asking guests for help. Luckily I found a hotel employee who got my room key for me. The next night I met other guests who were helplessly wandering around the hotel because they couldn't call that number. The hotel needs to address this problem and change their check-in system!

The room was very run down, and the air conditioner was as loud as a diesel truck- bring earplugs! The electricity went out in half of my room and didn't work for the rest of my stay. This hotel seems to attract a lot of loud, inconsiderate backpackers. They were yelling and singing at all hours of the night. The hotel doesn't enforce quiet hours. Since the office is closed at night- you're on your own!! It's a cheap place to stay, but good luck.
