“Good day out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

Travelled with Wife and two children (10/7). I've been on several previous trips to the barrier reef out of Cairns and Port Douglas. This trip was on a par with Quicksilver from many years ago. The boat was comfortable and ploughed through the rough sea well as it was very windy and choppy on the way to the pontoon. We paid extra on the trip out to do a group snorkel adventure with a marine biologist for about 1hr. This was the highlight of our trip and we got to snorkel in different areas than the normal roped off part and saw much more and learnt much more. It was an additional $160 for the four of us but well worthwhile. It did make the entire day cost about $650 but the overheads to run an operation like this must be phenomenal and I know that just running a small boat costs a small fortune.
The lunch provided was very good and there was free tea, coffee and water while not underway. The bar was also very reasonable with beers, spirit mixers and wine cheaper than most hotels so they definitely do not try to rip off the captured audience.
Oh and most importantly the area of reef we went to was very good with heaps of variety to see and clear water. The snorkelling equipment was good.

“Now”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013 via mobile

Now the boat ride to the patform is long but calm they have a sun deck snorkeling, scuba diving, free lunch, helment tours, kidde pool, sumberine tours, and glass bottom. Snorkling is great for a non swimmers cause they have life jackets. the reef is a beauty diving times depend cause even though it says 40 min but depending on the whether it could be shorter ( Go Pros and cameras allowed).

“Great day on the reef with Reef Magic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013 via mobile

Weather wasn't great, but didn't matter. Everything was thought of, making for a great experience on the reef. The snorkelling safari was amazing and well worth the extra. All up a truly magical day on the reef.

“Great Barrier Reef - So worth it!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

I loved this Cruise! It was a little expensive, but it was worth it! I bought the adventure snorkel and the wetsuit in addition to the cruise and I would do it again in a heartbeat! The adventure snorkel got us so close to the reef and it showed us so much more than what was just around the boat. Although, around the boat there were a ton of fish and a ton of food for lunch. There was also free wifi on the boat that was a complete bonus! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

“OUR TRIP to Outer reef on "REEF MAGIC"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

Reef Magic was a great way to visit the Outer reef. We are both over 70 yrs old and enjoyed this trip just as much as the young ones. We didn't snorkel or dive but had several trips on the Semi sub and glass bottom boat. WOW, just wonderful, lots of fish, a turtle or two and even a reef shark , just a great look at the reef and its inhabitants without diving.
FREE Advise :
(1) JUST IN CASE the sea is a bit rough take 3 Ginger Travel Calm Tablets ( all natural) a couple of hours before you sail. (cost about $6.00 from chemist)
(2) Dont have a heavy breakfast or a hangover. Those who did on our trip were sick as the sea was a bit rough that day and you just never know........
Great onboard crew, great lunch, great attention to safely detail for those who scuba dived and or snorkeled etc. We oldies really enjoyed REEF MAGIC and recommend it totally.... As we were disembarking the crew lined up to say goodbye and thanked us using REEF MAGIC, a lovely touch to end our lovely day out on the outer reef....
