“Older establishment but current focus”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2011

Arrived after a really long day doing fieldwork - sweaty, tired and just looking for somewhere to lay my head. The concierge ( a lovely woman) took my suitcase from the taxi and upon seeing my cane offered assistance into reception (politely declined but happy it was offered in the first place). Checked in very smoothly and was on my way to my room with a minimum of fuss. The room is older style but clean and everything works as it should. Late in the evening but calling room service again no problem at all. Order room service from a good basic menu. Arrived earlier than advised, hot and pretty darn tasty. After a day on the road and little amenities e meal was a welcome respite. I ordered the dory and hand cut fries with a special request of aoli rather than the caramelized lime. Received both so I could try something different. Not a huge serving but enough to fill a need and let me sleep on a pleasantly full tummy.

The room is not large but suitable for a single night and person. Well outfitted and with everything one would expect for this style of hotel. Bathroom inclusions are pleasant and comprehensive.

Room Tip: I was given the 11 th floor with a view of a clock tower (sorry Brisbanites - I dont know what it is...

The hotel is reasonably priced for somewhere with such a good location - easy walking distance to the city centre and access to trains. Nice decor, it feels pretty fresh and new, and the rooms are pleasantly big. The pool on the roof is a nice touch on a hot Brissie day and the bar staff and reception staff very pleasant. Would happily stay there again, in fact I have just booked it for another visit.

Room Tip: Higher up is better - get away from the road noise below.

Stayed here in September for a sporting Event at Lang Park (2nd time we have used this property) - easy walking distance.

High standard room, excellent price (picked up a great rate as the mystery hotel on wotif). Excellent checkin, very helpful at reception.

Convenient parking on site (though not cheap)

Our new base for events at Lang Park!!

I would give this hotel 3.5 stars if I could, but opted for four stars due to the location (rather than three).
We stayed here for a convention and it is in a great location and was quite reasonably priced.
The rooms are very dated and the ceiling are low, so if you are claustrphobic I would recommend somewhere else.
There are many better hotels in Brisbane city, but if you can obtain a great price here and only need a bed it is absolutely fine.
We didn't eat in the hotel but checked out the breakfast buffet. It looked OK but not worth the $30 a head that they were charging.
The service was great and valet parking quick and efficient. We were granted a late checkout so I was pleased with that.
Overall a positive experience for the money spent.

The hotel is close to major attractions such as shopping mall, Microsoft building where I went for a conference. The room is spacious and very clean but poorly sound proofed as I could hear the next door neighbour flushing the toilet etc. The swimming pool is on another building sharing with Sebel Citigate and it was not heated as I expected when I tried to swim.

This hotel was in a great position, walking distance to city centre. Parking was the average price in most Brisbane Hotels. Friendly staff. We asked for a late check out, we allowed to stay free of charge until 11am. $20 until $30 until 1pm. Huge bed and very comfortable. Pillows were perfect. Very clean property.
