“A racecourse and that is it”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2012

Eagle Farm race course is adjacent to the Doomben race course near Hendra in Brisbane's north.
There is a train that services the track for race meetings.
The amenities themselves are shameful.
For a large city track the grand stand and amenities really need to be knocked down and a new public and members area created.
The toilets and areas under the grand stand stink.
They smell like mould and mildew - it is gross!
On top of that there are limited areas for patrons with air conditioning.
The food is over priced and really has no thought or love in it. Granted it is a racecourse but really some type of meal should be provided for race patrons.
A big problem is the fact that as a visitor you cannot purchase a meal, races, and drinks package like you can at courses like Sha Tin, Japan and the UK.
This is a real deterent for people wishing to experience horse racing - especially in Brisbane.
The horses and qaulity of the track itself look great.
The jockeys, trainers, owners and colours all add to the spectacle of the day.
It is a shame that the amenities are now out dated and really of a poor standard.
It appears some patch work by way of maintenance has been done in some areas whilst others have been negelected.
If they want people to come to the races and support horse racing they really need to become a little more creative.

“Great Day Out!”

Even if you're not a big punter you can watch the races, check out the fashions and enjoy the atmosphere.
