I visited this place prior to taking my kids here, just to check it out for suitability. I was very pleasently surprised at how green and tranquil this place was, given the lack of rain Brisbane has had recently. The picnic area is lovely with natural wooden BBQ facilities (may need to bring some of your own wood as there wasnt much there when I visited) I was also very surprised at how quiet it was given its close proximity to the Bruce Hwy. The bird viewing shed/area was a bit disappointing (no birds to be seen but that may be due to the time of day I visited) I didnt do the extended walk, but I think this would have been better than the very short bird viewing track. Have also heard fishing is good in this area too, and a good spot to drop a line with the kids.
