“Good location, reasonable room”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013 via mobile

I stayerd here for a weekend with my partner while attending board meetings. havign booked a studio apartment, I arrived to find it a somwhat unusal shape with a small living area in one end and the bedroom at the other end of a short hall, with the room split by the small bathroom.
Water pressure in the shower is amazingly good - a long time since I have had a shower like that.
My only complaint was that in the absense of daily apartment cleaning, it would have been nice for spare bathroom products to be placed under the basin as the supplied product was not enough for myself & partner for 2 nights.

The free breakfast for two with our room was definitely a highlight, as was the free Internet access during our stay (which should be standard policy). On a last-minute booking, we got a small one-bedroom apartment - in terms of room to spread out, you can do much better elsewhere for the same price or less. On the plus side, it was pretty nice - two leather stretch lounge chairs in the living room, along with a small table and two chairs for dining. A kitchen small enough for two to cook comfortably - just barely - and the standard pots, pans, water boiler, free tea and coffee. Bedroom was clean and comfortable. View was of the spotlit City Hall clock tower, between buildings - a surprisingly good view given we were on the 6th floor in a downtown building. In the breakfast room, there was a computer with Internet access, as well as WiFi in the room. On the down side, reception closes 7-7:30pm, so if you need a later check-in, you might run into a problem. The table with bowl of fresh fruit when you exit the elevator - as shown on one of the TripAdvisor photos - is gone, at least on our floor. The Art Deco touches throughout are pretty nice. Windows have been reinforced with double-glass, so the room was surprisingly quiet, given its streetside location. Most annoying was the in-room signage, stating a hot shower of 4 minutes or more could set off the sensitive alarm system, and that guests would be charged $600 if it did! But if you need to stay in the CBD near the train station for a night, this was a decent stay for two people comfortable with being in a tight space. There is no way you could entertain 2 guests for dinner, or be here comfortably with a rambunctious child - for us, it was fine for a night. The receptionist was businesslike and professional - wake-up call came when it was supposed to, and check-in/check-out went smoothly. Very friendly guy handling the breakfast on the 4th floor, too. Felt it was fairly priced for what you got. A fitness center - or free access to one nearby - would be a nice addition.

Very central place. We had 2 rooms booked for a big family, one had 2 bedrooms the other just a room, the price was good and the rooms old but clean, wish we knew there was no service on the weekends as we left our towels in a heap , we didnt read the Note properly! Breakfast was included and it was way better than i thought , filled up my big boys. The weekend manager was great so helpful and friendly, but the staff on the weekday when we tried to see if we could get an early check-in for one of kids who was getting in from an overnight plane at 7.30am was a real jerk, so rude, so unhelpful, so far up himself, he couldnt care less. What part of service industry doesn't he get! it spoilt the whole stay that sort of attitude . Shame really

Thank you for submitting your review and expressing your feelings with regard to our stay.
Feed back is most important to us as we constantly strive to improve our service. Understandably we are most distressed at your comment and experience.

We are extremy proud of our excellent staff at the Manor who all have considerable hospitality experience. Please note also the extensive positive comments re our staff and service on all review sites. This experience of yours is a first and unfortunately unexplainable.
When possible we always offer early check-ins for gusts arriving prior to the normal 2pm check-in time. Unfortunately this was not possible on your arrival date as we had been full the night before.
We were pleased that you found the remainder of your stay to your satisaction.
regards
Robert

Stayed here as a family of 4 in a 2 bed roomed apartment for 4 days.

We hired a car from Brisbane airport and in no time we were arriving at the Manor Apartments. Offloaded our cases and then drove round the block to park in the underground car park (the Manor has a good rate here so not too expensive for a city car park).

The receptionist checked us in and were soon in the lift to our 7th floor apartment. It was very spacious with a nice area to sit around a flat screened TV and there was a dining area with a table and 6 chairs. The kitchen was well equipped with all we needed and a dishwasher too. There was also a washer/drier in the main bathroom.

The main bedroom had a good sized and comfortable bed and another large screened TV. The en suite was small but fine for what we needed. The second bedroom had 2 single beds.

The apartments were ideally positioned for everything you would want to do in Brisbane - close to the shops, good restaurants and the river.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

This was our first stop in Australia and we were impressed with the spacious room and friendly service. The staff helped us find maps and events in the city. The room had a fully equipped kitchen that we would have used more if we had stayed longer. Wifi in room worked perfectly. The location was excellent as we walked around central part of the city. Price a bit high compared to some places but well worth the money.

Great location right next to the GPO in Brisbane's CBD. Art deco sandstone building complete with gargoyles. Easy couple of minutes walk from Central Station. Comprehensive continental breakfast- juice, cereal, toast, boiled eggs, ham, tea and coffee when we were there. Apartments are clean, attractive and well set up. Staff pleasant and courteous. There is parking available (at a cost) but as the hotel is right in the city there is no way of avoiding rush hour traffic.

City central, walking distance to all the main museums and galleries, and practically next to the shopping district. Very easy to get around, great choice of restaurants close by. Well set up rooms with plenty of space, kitchen, laundry & everything you could need to 'live in' should you choose not to take advantage of all the other attractions right on the doorstep. A little noisy at night if you're a light sleeper, but that's to be expected as trade off for such a convenient location.
