“Really Couldn't Get Better on Mary Street or anywhere else!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2012

Located on Mary Street in the CBD and visited in March this is just a superb arrangement. Great apartments in a big tower. AC was good, location is superb with walk to the central shops; the botanical gardens; river cat service and the south bank area all an easy stroll in the most pleasant weather one could expect. The River Cat is a great way to see the main sights of the down town area and out to the excellent modern art gallery at New Farm through to the UQ campus at St Lucia. A great city and a great visit.

The views from the hotel are not great but really there is so much else to see in this city you wont be in the hotel long other than to sleep. We had a two bedroom apartment for 5 nights for 800 AUD which is very reasonable. Great showers, handy utility room with washer and ironing table. Kitchen is really well stocked with utensils if you want to eat in.

Places to see. In a few days you can take in the QPAC centre for just great theatre; the modern art gallery in the central area is very good too. The South bank area for eating. Loads of choice so don't give up with one bad apple! The St Lucia campus of the University is a super place to walk around. Manicured lawns, sports ovals and we had lunch at the tennis centre which was great value and really good food/service. Why play tennis in the heat of midday though?.... Nice to watch.

Tip for travellers. Get the superb Go card from Translink to allow you to avoid the huge fares for taxis in from the Airport. They work on the River Cat; rail and super bus and local rail routes.

One trip thats a "must" is a North Stradbrooke (Straddie) Island visit. Great place to see the sun set; great beaches; lovely ferry crossing and quaint (if a little infrequent) bus service. A must do in any Brisbane city visit and all easily reachable in a day. Take the bus to the ferry (short walk) and get the train back to the city frm the last ferry at 1800.The old museum of the Strabrooke "asylum" contains some great pieces from when the island was used as a refusge for the destitute in Queensland. Pretty nice place to be looked after! Bats at sundown are always an interesting thing to see.

Alternatives are a drive to Noosa (the drive is a bit tedious with the crazy Ozzie speed limits ) and while it is another great place to visit, unless you really want to surf you will get just as good views at Stradbrooke.

Visiting Brisbane is a real privilege. What a great city it must be to live in.

Room Tip: Avoid the construction site for the Meriton Tower on Mary all eighty stories of it!

We stayed here as a group of 6 adults in Brisbane for a wedding. The apartment was very good. It was large and well designed and extremely well postioned to all of the central Brisbane activities. We were on the top (29) floor and thought the apartment was reasonably qiuet. The reception staff were friendly and very efficient with no waiting at all.

Great location in the centre of the city. The apartment is clean, spacious and well equipped. I was on level 22 and so had wonderful views and we enjoyed eating our takeaway sitting on the balcony looking over the city. Car Parking @ $10 per nite is reasonable and very handy. The reception staff are friendly and very helpful. Hope to stay again.

Stayed for 2 nights in January 2012. 2 bedroom apartment clean and well stocked with all the necessary equipment. Great location and customer service was excellent. Our ironing board was unstable it was immediately replaced. On checkout I was allowed to leave our car in their car park for a few hours, which was considerate as parking in the CBD is exorbitant.

Room Tip: High and river view are the pick.

Stayed at the Quest for a few nights in December 2011. The rooms are spacious with everything you need. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which also had 2 bathrooms. Very close to the mall & many restaurants / bars. The customer service here was awesome, I left a bottle of moet in the freezer & reception did not hesitate to run up & take it out for me at no charge! I would definitely stay there again!!

A good location, short walking distance to the important things - shopping, food, transport. The kitchen was very well stocked equipment wise. A mini bar might have been nice as I was in a pinch for some bottled water, luckily there were a number of convenience stores nearby.

Water pressure wasn't the best. The bathroom was covered with mildew and not of the best quality. Pros, there is a fully equipped laundry. Didn't make much use of it during my short term stay. Construction starts at 6am, with trucks and sirens audible on the lower floors. The lower floors are car park floors, and felt a little dodgy.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 3, 2011

I enjoyed my 4 day stay there. They staff were very friendly and helpful. The studio apartment was a good size with all the needed facilities. The air conditioning worked (two units), the bed was comfortable.
The hotel is located well, and away from the more hilly areas of the city; a short walk to the shopping, the river, public transport (although probably not the train), and the Botanical Gardens.

A few a somewhat negative comments:
- The amount of water coming from the shower was not really acceptable.
- There is some building construction on two sides of the hotel, both in early stages. Work does not start until 7am and ends before 5pm, so it should not cause a problem.
- The pool is good, but it a lap pool, and with two people in it you get close to brushing against each other if you do not watch out.

Two more things of notes:
- Some of the lower floors have apartments accessible through a car-park.
- The locking of the door was not automatic, if it is not locked from the inside, then enter from the outside is possible.
